Homeless people are usually not really "homeless" they are "of no fixed abode" meaning they float around living sometimes on the street, sometimes in tunnels and sometimes squatting in unoccupied or communal properties, staying at homeless shelters on an adhoc basis
The vast majority of them are generally content with this arrangement, or perhaps, discontent but prefer it to any alternatives
There is no "problem" with this, these people can live on their feet if they like
The real PROBLEM is that normal civilised people don't want them around, which is also perfectly reasonable, because the typically stink, are criminals and junkies and generally scum
The final solution to the homeless question is obvious - create homeless camps and ranges where they can roam, receive deliveries of drugs or whatever they want but otherwise kept out of sight and mind of ordinary folks
You want to be homeless? Fine, go be homeless in the homeless camp, more power to you. You want to leave? If you're caught homeless again you get jailed. Now the streets are clean and the beggars have fucked off to their reservation.

I think we have a similar system to the US where you can camp on crown land for a certain amount of time before being required to move. But you could technically rotate a few spots a few km apart and be in the clear. Remember folks, always do your own legal research.

The vast majority of street people here are on disability gov payments and have a room in a low cost housing crackhouse.

When I used to live in East London, there was a polak sleeping in the Llama enclosure of the zoo, in their little wooden shed. Mr and Mrs Llama were turfed out for a few months while he lived in there. They were pissed off.

Well, it depends. If you have your own house, where to do it then yes. If you have been renting some apartment in a city before, it becomes more complicated.
It might be worthwhile just to buy such solution for 3k USD, and not to get into headaches to build it on your own.

It is not really a thing here where I live. But we don't have much issue with homeless, as most retarded alcoholics and junkies tend to freeze to death during winters, as homeless shelters does not accept intoxicated persons.

I see some utility in it as low cost temp housing though. You kinda already can buy used camper for that. But if those are in high price, or unavailable at time, tiny house could work as well.

You can be a farm apprentice anywhere in Canada from Apr until Oct where all accomodation paid for. You finish the season with 19-30k or so in savings as no need to spend money. Then you can buy a small plot of land with a $10k down payment but also know how to run a farm so your cuckshed is self sustaining

During Cold War era, in one of Warszaw Pact countries (Bulgaria) government gave newly built 5 story commie block building to gypsies. First thing they do, was removed windows for some reasons. And then removed wiring from walls. Because... free copper. And then they lived for decades in apartments, where they either burned bonfires right on a floor, or made small ovens. Also, no running water.

This seems like a better temporary housing solution. Foam tent. Good r-value, easy to construct, cheaper. It also folds onto itself for good portability.

Apartments aren't so expensive for technical reasons, in western cities it's artificially induced scarcity to pump the value of real estate owned by boomers.
You could absolutely make a building with tiny studios that are affordable to poor people, but the concept wouldn't be approved.
