What is it about the boomer that makes them all want to sort the garbage? It all goes to the same place!
What is it about the boomer that makes them all want to sort the garbage? It all goes to the same place!
i dont follow your line of reasoning. that stuff doesnt go to the same place. some of it becomes compost in gardens. some is recycled.
The boomers came from.a time and place where you belieed the advertising. Right or wrong, you believed the evening news and that your local car retailer was giving cars away. It's their conditioning. They got sold recycling as a holdover from the scrap industry after WW2 when they had to find a way to stay afloat after scrap and rubber drives starved them of industrial material and cash flow.
It all gets burned, there is no recycling, except for a few metals
Catholics have this religious belief that wasting trash is a sin and that recycling plastic will save the planet.
If you think about it that's really stupid. I mean, it's only a matter.
Of time before earth gets destroyed in some kind of cosmic Calamity.
Are we supposed to Keep this rock nice and tidy for the ayes
The recycling psyop was rolled out by single-use/disposable plastic manufacturers. Boomers are hopelessly retarded and most people still believe thay the contents of their recycling bins are magically transformed into more single-use crap
Boomers live in an alternate reality. Some of them still pay for cable TV
I just pay the tax to not be a loser. I put cans and bottles in the general trash.
If you are actually returning cans and bottles you are either a hobo, an old woman or a gypsie.
Your average boomer wastes most of their income shopping for crap they see on TV while their kids and grandkids are homeless or living in vehicles. Sorting the trash is one of the few ways they can pretend to give their life meaning
Polyethylene is a finite resource that people just throw on the ground and you can melt it down and resell it to people and they'll pay extra for it
What about using glass like the Germoids do? Less chemicals in your pop.
If you can find it, there's a very good Penn and Teller's Bullshit episode about recycling. Really good. Totally opened my eyes to the bullshit that is recycling. TLDR is that it's a make work industry that creates more problems than it pretends to solve and it solves almost none because there is literally one and only one thing that it makes financial sense to recycle, and that's glass bottles, because they can be melted down and reshaped into new glass more easily than making new glass. The same can not be said of literally any other thing that is recycled. It's all just make work bullshit that ends up mostly just being shuffling a bunch of shit around wasting time and gas before it finally ends up in a landfill anyway. There is practically no demand from any manufacturer of anything for garbage to make their product out of. Ever since seeing that episode I can't stop noticing how fundamentally stupid and bullshit and absolute perfect for this Hell we live in recycling really is. I have seen through the bullshit but it's everywhere and the misunderstanding is everywhere too and it's really actually infuriating after you learn the truth about recycling to see it everywhere and people supporting it because it makes them feel good. FUCK
THEY CAN ... cheaply, quickly, accurately... SORT PLASTICS OF ALL KINDS.

I repeat, THEY COULD AND CAN SORT PLASTICS with very high accuracy and efficiency...
The problem is buyers of the sorted plastics plus the issue of MOST RECYCLING CENTERS ARE SCAMS.

Critics call out plastics industry over "fraud of plastic recycling"
cbsnews.com
Jan Dell is a former chemical engineer who has spent years telling an inconvenient truth about plastics. "So many people, they see the recyclable label, and they put it in the recycle bin," she said. "But the vast majority of plastics are not recycled."
About 48 million tons of plastic waste is generated in the U.S. each year; only 5 to 6 percent of it is actually recycled, according to the Department of Energy. The rest ends up in landfills or is burned.
thats the episode penn says he regrets making the most btw
That would definitely be better, but people shying away from recycling because of gay marketing are forgetting that it's a practically free resource to any cottage manufacturer.
I bet you want everything mixed? Are you Jewish?
All in the same place
There is no race, we all live on earth!!!
I used to work at a recycling plant that came from America and they’re genuinely all the same
The workers are in shit conditions (sometimes they die), the bails of “recyclables” are either sent to a landfill if no one wants to buy the product, or it’s sent to shipyard factories in China that demolish the environment anyways
If you actually care about the environment just buy less and live with nature more. The government has never and will never care about what people actually want
the plastic industry somehow convinced amerisharts that plastic bottles are more recyclable
Probably got a lot of death threats over it. The industry is huge and it's complete and total bullshit that he managed to lay bare in about 20 minutes and it just should not fucking exist. It literally makes things worse.
I work in the waste industry (white collar) and the recycling infrastructure is insane. We have state of the art AI sorting machines and everything. Probably the same in burgerland. Anyone who claims recycling isn't real needs to be punched in the face.
That was 20 years ago. The industry has changed in ways you can't even imagine.
That sucks
What he probably actually regrets is the part about making that lady sort all that crazy bullshit garbage under false pretenses for comedic effect and making her look like a complete and total retard when she really was just a lady trying to be nice. It's been a long time since I've seen it but I think he even says as much at the end of the episode in the voice over.
But damn if that wasn't some effective imagery to go along with the rest of it. You are absolutely being taken for a fucking ride while you actively pollute the planet more than you would have otherwise if you fall for the bullshit recycling meme.
Bullshit. It is still the same garbage being shuffled around before it ultimate ends up in a landfill wasting a ton of time and gas for fucking nothing. Creating more pollution to make people feel good because they believe a lie. It's complete and total bullshit.
Nobody wanted recycling. They forced it on us. There never was and never will be any demand. Surprisingly, nobody wants their consumer goods made out of garbage.
I don't get this. How am I supposed to know which shit is compost and which is recycle? I'm no garbage expert wtf is this
I know that glass is 100% recyclable
plastic is like under 9% recyclable
paper is something like 65-85% recyclable
and amerisharts like demand a house on top of a landfill for themselves
Ignoring useful recycling technology thats modern... You can cleanly rid yourself of plastic waste by THERMALPLASTIC DECOMPOSITION.
Take carbon-rich organic matter, vacuum air from cooking chamber, heat up in sealed box, hydrogen ions and oxygen ions peel off the matter until you're left with oils, rich pure carbons, loose minerals, and so on.
en.wikipedia.org
Another solution... THE PIRANHA SOLUTION.
Piranha solution, also known as piranha etch, is a mixture of sulfuric acid and hydrogen peroxide.
en.wikipedia.org
Can decompose polymers into carbon dioxide and spare minerals very cheaply at low temperatures and since the Piranha Solution emits waste heat, you can tap that for low torque power generation.
That's also overlooking cheap plentiful reliable PLASMA CUTTING LASERS.

IDEALLY, YOU WANT REPLICATOR OR PROGRAMMABLE MATTER EFFICIENCY. Where you just wash the waste product, and it can be fed a bit of microwave energy to (pellets, wires, ingots, liquid resins) restructure itself into pure uniform material sources (with minimal material shed of the waste product. You can cut, melt, compress, stretch, the material and it can be cheaply reset as a programmable material by nanotech granules getting a microwave energy stimulus. Creating the ultimate recycling system.
Are you dumb? Waste companies are private enterprises interested in seeking a profit. Once we have been paid to collect the waste the options available to us are:
Landfill it (negative profit)
Burn it for energy if combustible (small profit)
Recover materials and sell them (big profit)
We don't spend hundred of millions of our own money on Material Recovery Facilites for nothing. So yeah, recycling is real and most importantly PROFITABLE.
a ritual. carbon credits are an Indulgences tax for the guilt of consumption. and sorting trash is like washing your feet before praying.
at the cost of 100 million looniepounfiddy.
recycling(plastic) is(not feasible or economical)nt real
it just isn't recycled because it isn't recyclable. nor should it be. there's plenty of landfill space. burying it is fine
Big Trash just wants people to do their work for them
my first gf broke up with me because I didn't believe in recycling. I thought she just didn't have the facts. but turns out she's a she/they and I'm a penn jillette dork nigga heil hitler
it's religious at this point
glass is much much much heavier (transportation costs are much much higher). they also break more.
PLASTIC IS FINE (IF YOURE NOT A NIGGER THROWING IT IN THE RIVER)
This is just a thoughtful sensible thing to do.
We're just paid to collect the waste, what we do with it after is our problem. As explained in we don't get any money from burying it in a landfill, in fact we have to pay. All we have to do is sort the plastics into the different types and then we can sell it. Yeah, the infrastructure has a high upfront cost, but it pays off in the long run.
I return the bottles but full of piss
You type like a fucking alien... don't trust this piece of shit alien fucker
Only white people follow those guidelines, everyone else just throws their shit in the closest bin or on the ground.
Also sorting is incredibly cheap because we always have alwyas used africans and slavs fresh off the boat who don't speak a lick of English or understand labour laws. Now we're starting to replace them with AI systems that are even cheaper.
I know boomers has become a catch all for people over 40 but this is hardcore Gen-X behavior. Boomers actually hate it.
Boomers actually hate it.
youre forgetting the large subset of bitchy old women that have made tds/cnn/snl their entire personality. blind environmentalism virtue signaling is one of their biggest pastimes when theyre not glued to network tv propaganda. i know for a fact my mid 70s mother goes through peoples garbage cans up and down the street on trash day sorting boxes and bottles out into the recycle. pure boredom derangement
Not surprised about burgerland's nigger tier sanitation infrastructure portrayed in this thread.
thats millennial behavior
It's true. It all goes on a barge that floats in the ocean because it's too dirty for the SEA monkeys to burn.
