To say nothing of the most modern cars having paywalled/subscription features blocked by the car's software even if its equipped with the hardware (e.g. want heated seats? Itll cost you 12.99$ a month and you'll thank us for the privilege)

K-class in Japan is limited to 660cc displacement or smaller but afaik cylinder count and layout aren't specified. I think 3 cup is typical, and every time they talk about launching a kei in the states the first thing they do is a bigger motor because the US regulatory and consumer base favors larger displacement than most of the world. I’m at my apartment. Tomorrow I do errands like i do every Thursday. I’ll cover 6-8 miles on my E scooter (standy up type) with a backpack on for my doodads which I need to collect. If it was Hamerica instead of a small English country town I’d probably want a toy with better range, speed and carrying capacity. I get 18 mph at my weight on a scootle carrying a pack. About 10-12 miles range. A 500-650 cc petrol engine would do but a battery thing is fun.

You could be stylin' roaming the roads with this bad boy. They have like a 40 mile range and charge in about 7 hours. Top speed roughly 25mph. Wouldn't recommend if you don't have the dedicated bike lanes though.

There is a legal loophole in the US that you can do that. You have to start a llc in Montana or some western state where those are legal to drive on the road. Then you get a tag for it in that state, but you drive it where you are. It still needs to be modified to have turn signals / horn / etc or else you will be ticked where you are driving it, but there are kits for the conversion.

Not that plenty of 'youths' don't ride 4 wheelers and dirt bikes on the streets with no license anyway.
