Short IR is known as infrared, long IR is known as thermal. A thermal cloak prevents long IR from radiating from your body to the camera and ideally uses air vents to take heat away without giving away your position. Also, there must be an air gap between your body and the cloak or you'll just warm the cloak and it will radiate to the camera directly.
