I have a good, no... a great wife but she can't cut hair. Not artistic, I guess. I learned to cut my own hair during the plandemic and never looked back.
It's easy: Get a good rechargeable clipper kit from a beauty supply store. Learn how to use the different sizes of guards and clip up to the edge of your dome. Get good quality scissors and blend the top into the clipped part. Use a hand mirror to check the back.
It took a little practice at first but now I can cut my own hair 90% just by feel/memory. Don't even need a mirror until I blend in the top.
Everybody in my life says it looks better than when I used to pay a barber. Thank God my wife can at least trim my neck line. I CAN do that too, but you have to go super slow because everything is reversed in the mirror.
I have a longer hair length goal now. When I used to fade closer I didn't need to even look at the back of my neck. The smallest guard I use is a 4, so I have to block out the edges a little bit.
