Homosexuals claim that their condition is naturally occurring and their "ideal state" is to just be in a sexual and romantic relationship with someone of the same sex, and that their only wish is to be left alone. Fair enough, I've never cared about gays, I don't think about them.

Transgender people claim that their "ideal state" can only be achieved with hormones and surgery that are only possible due to modern technology and industrialization. Men were not allowed to openly take up female roles in pre industrial societies. Presumably because even if a woman were acting as a man, she could still bear children while a man in a woman's role had no obvious value to a resource poor society.

But transgender folks have existed in other cultures. Yeah yeah I know people are gonna rip into me but Native American cultures are one example. India (don't quote me on that one) I believe also tolerated transgenderism or intersex individuals and normalized it at times in it's history.

I think there is plausible and reasonable wiggle room to argue that biological sex and gender can be distinct from one another, but to argue that a transgender woman IS a woman is quite literally false and an assault on societies shared interpretation of reality.
