I actually have a relevant answer. Light is fundamentally a wave. One reason why light can be interpreted as discrete particles is because if you blast a detection array with a wave front of low enough intensity, not all the discrete elements of the array will fire due to intrinsic physical variations in each detector.

Image a field of dominoes balanced on their edges. If you shake the table just slightly, not all dominoes will fall over. But perhaps one domino will fall due to variations in the table surface and the domino's balance/surface imperfections. This does not mean your shaking is composed of particles, rather you've just surpassed the toppling energy of that one domino.

Visual snow is similar to this scenario. Your retina and optical processing cortex is composed of receptors and processing neurons. These cells will fire after a certain threshold is reached, but the specific thresholds will vary for each cell. If you see static, then that is a cell or subgroup or cells firing because the "wave" of incoming information happened to hit their threshold at that instant. Other cells with higher thresholds will ignore it.

Basically all continuous wave phenomena can be modeled with particles. This doesn't mean that's their nature. It just means the mathematics works out. A clear example is the "phonon" (look it up). Phonons are a theoretical particle that sound engineers use for modeling acoustics. Everyone knows phonons don't exist because sound is obviously a wave, but they're useful for calculation.

Photons are a scam because scientists refuse to address this possibility. The math works just like with phonons, but the only reason they believe photons to be "real" is because Einstein used them to explain the quantization seen in the photoelectric effect. However, the quantization can be explained using resonance thresholds - which is what Lenard was looking into before he got canceled.

The reality probably is that light is fundamentally a wave, but we see quantization because of its interaction with the materials in our test apparatus. Interestingly enough, this may also be the reason why Relativity appears true (and aether false). It is just the apparatus being deformed not "time/space" being warped. This is what Lorentz thought. And Lorentz is the guy that Einstein stole the Lorentz equations from to make Relativity. Lorentz' theory is mathematically equivalent to Relativity, but importantly, it maintains the possibility of the investigation of the aether.
