Maps of Meaning by Jordan Peterson

Some anon wrote a “book” once in 2015. It was so fucking shitty. He was an Indian living in Canada and his premise was how Sikhs in the Canadian armed forces went deep into us territory and engaged in epic battles against us infantry and navy seals until they assassinated key figures
It was like 300+ pages. I thought he was memeing but he added me on telegram and shared the pdf with me. I was like “holy fucking shit”

OP’s answers:
1. Currently reading Killing Hope, as I have seen it referenced multiple times in other books.

2. I really felt Unintended Consequences by John Ross was a pile of shit. The whole thing reads like a Boomer wet dream, with the main character being a literal Boomer Mary-Sue.

3. I really need to find Survival of the Wisest by Jonas Salk

If anyone is interested I’m looking to sell a physical paperback of My Twisted World by Elliot Rodger, an actual decent printing. Only 22 in the world, as the original printer said “a copy produced for each year Elliot spent as a kissless virgin”

How different is the 48 laws of power from the talmud? Serious question since Robert Greene is Jewish

Did you hear they recently revealed who the true author of Serpent’s Walk was? He’d been dead for a while. Some turbo nerd who would write source books for DnD and such lol

Currently revisiting Bukowski.

image-asset.jpg - 323x500, 56.27K

Very nice, took about a year for me to find Bukowski just the way I wanted it. Only original covers and Black Sparrow prints. I love it though

M.A.R. Barker (author)

No it’s been known that Pierce wasn’t the author simply because of its writing style and its sci-fi bent. But it was one of the few published books by the National Vanguard which tied it to Turner Diaries and Hunter inextricably

I read that Celine book every two years.
Post moar, our libraries are probably similar and I have never met a Anon Babbleack with good taste in literature.

Enlighten us with your superior taste

A group calling themselves “Apostate Gallery” they were doing this and they planned to release a DVD of all of Nasim Aghdam’s videos as well. They went dark though shortly after the My Twisted World was sold out. They were in the UK which is no kinda place to try and publish that particular book.

I’ve never seen the other 21 copies anywhere. Apostate was also tied to a group called “Parallax Optics” which has also gone dark

Broken window fallacy

I learned this in business school:

A boy breaks a window.

The townspeople looking on decide that the boy has actually done the community a service because his father will have to pay the town's glazier to replace the broken pane.

The glazier will then spend the extra money on something else, jump-starting the local economy.

The onlookers come to believe that breaking windows stimulates the economy.

The Broken window fallacy theory argues correctly that:

By forcing his father to pay for a window, the boy has reduced his father's disposable income.

His father will not be able to purchase new shoes or some other luxury goods.

Productivity has also decreased, as the time the father spends dealing with the broken window could have been put to better use. Thus, the broken window might help the glazier, but at the same time, it robs other industries and reduces the amount spent on other goods.

Hope this helps, and I just checked a French man Frédéric Bastiat in 1850 created the theory apparently.

His novels were pretty much the only ones of the time that truly dealt with the psychological depths of society and its decay. Also imbued with his religious ideals which are very much engrained into the text

currently reading Democracy: The God That Failed by Hans Herman Hoppe. read Starship Troopers by Robert Heinlein before that. probably gonna read another heinlein book next

You seriously do the whole 90 degrees angle reading with these tomes? Must be a workout for your hands.

Some nice white pills.

162..png - 1600x1000, 2.63M

good to know all of you read on purpose. real books.

More like cup the spine with your hand, so you can feel it’s flat, and go from there.

I’ve actually never found the perfect reading position, I just make do. Never found the perfect chair for reading either. I like that there are books some people and women can’t actually lift and read

Literature is pretty fucking gay anyway what are you going to get to suck on some dirty ass art girl pussy for flexing your obscure intellectual tastes faggot?

No, literature is for men, always has been, always will be. Almost every female author is shit. I keep a few handy just so visitors can’t use that line

Books turn people into faggots. Everyone should be illiterate and the Priest should interpret scripture to us.

This is going to sound a bit weird but I have found the perfect reading position

I have a massage table for the wife to work on my back injury. Its got a face hole like pic related. I put my books on an iPad stand underneath and I can lie there for hours without needing or wanting to move

For those heckin edgy bois that consoom ((spoonfed infographics))

Tell it to JRR Tolkien, his wife was a real piece

Without experience of a wide variety of literature you have no way to really think. You might believe you can but you just cant. You dont understand the know unknowns, never mind the unknown unknowns

what are you reading currently?

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, my tenth reread this decade! If only I could drink butterbeer and study magic instead of going to work.

what have you read that you felt was overrated?

Hmm. I would say 1984, it was bloated and confusing and unrealistic. I didn't actually finish it because all I could think of were the internet memes, lol

It’s like a highschool reading list plus some nazi stuff
Every fucking business major used to have unopened copies of ‘art of war’ ‘how to win friends’ and ‘the prince’ on their shelves and now they just have it on a PDF instead

Remove half of those books and add some that aren’t memes and it’ll look a lot less SHIT

Kek

Does your wife have this too?

udders.png - 587x395, 497.66K

Sorry to say man, but you can’t just list that shit on eBay. Plus I’m pretty sure the original printer got taken out for doing it (Elliot mentions too many full names, and of Hollywood people too).

Have you read Covington’s other novels?

I'm also an edgy boy.

I mean it’s just a neatly printed version of the manifesto that is easily available. But there are two bonuses after the main text. I kinda don’t think I should post the back cover because of what’s on it lol. Only if someone actually wants to talk about buying

Remember to read Gates of Fire to hear about my own self inserts character, Suicide, and his wacky adventures with the Spartans!

read this

Blood Meridian

I'm reading this a second time now, and it's different, because now the pedophile and Gnostic elements are sticking out. The first time I read it, I was like a naive kid. But now it's a lot darker and creepier knowing about pedophiles and jews, especially when going to use the outhouse and being raped and murdered. Some pol forum users would like it because it's racist against beaners and arrow throwers and contains casual use of the nigger word, but most of you are cowards and will cringe at the racial violence because you have weak bellies and are degenerates.

BENIS.jpg - 1200x1800, 236.91K

I'd pay 22 dollars for it

This does not fill me with confidence

You know a western of any kind is actually good if it can make your skin crawl with how horrifying some of those situations would really be. Our ancestors from then would be disappointed in all of us

IMG_8811.png - 1600x900, 348.03K

22 cents and no lower

Ah yes thanks I didn't understand why you called it a fallacy because it seemed like sound argument when I read it.
Bastiat I read his short essay on the law, highly recommended.

It’s actually good to have around. I’ve read passages out loud to my wife and she almost died laughing.

Amazon. A month before they banned it back in 2021. I found out about it in a book Anon Babble thread and bought it ASAP.

I have a half-consumed lolipop covered in lint in my pocket rn let's make a deal

People always suck off blood meridian for it's portrayal of violence but does it really live up to what we see now in the world?

Yes. Also only the Mexicans really progressed on that old western violence. Most other cultures became more “refined/sedate” but Mexicans just got even more violent and smelly.

Bump. Least cancerous thread all day.

Would you care to post an excerpt of it then?

No, this isn’t a gay ass English class. Grow a pair and go read the fucking book. Reading is an acquired taste these days, and the best things in the world are acquired tastes

“Money, women, whisky, and niggers will be the end of the world”

No. I won't read your faggoty bullshit if you can't back up the claim. I guess blood meridian will be something I will never read or watch if there's ever a film adaptation

A history of the Church in China by Paul Hattaway

Righto cunt cut off your nose to spite your face then.

Who the fuck unironically reads Jordan peterson

Ya gotta list alternatives man

Keep seething fuck boi. I'll stick to reading real literature

What about Wales? I’ve always wanted to visit Portmeirion because they filmed The Prisoner there

Yeah that would be an interesting trip. Idc if it's a well worn path, and I only vaguely remember the show but what a crazy little village.

Mainly about Dark Age Welsh warfare. There is a bit about medieval conflicts floating around but I'm more interested in the tail end of the Romano British period and into them contending with each other, Mercia, the Picts and so on.

This section is sort of what I’d term “modern literature”. Only true patricians understand the value of Frank Norris’ work

IMG_9720.jpg - 4032x3024, 2.61M

I'm actually pleased most people don' just have 95 IQ Neo Nazi pamphlets on their shelves, what a relief. Maybe the conservative reaction can save itself first

That’s pretty nice actually, certain subjects it’s very hard to find the actual texts, some are so obscure and hard to penetrate.

I once knew a rare book store owner who took a shine to me, but his obsession was like old world Atlas-books from the 17-1800’s. Blew all his cash on eBay finding that stuff

Yeah not bad
Some foundational stuff in there
Always felt like the working class man can pretty much educated himself with the penguin classics shelf,a good dictionary and some pre pozzed encyclopedias.

I'm reading this right now. It's pretty good because of how explicitly misogynistic the series is. It's a breath of fresh air. Amazon reviews are basically, "I remember loving these books when I was a kid, but on rereading them as an adult, I realize they are problematic. The problem? Misogyny!"

It's an interesting period because it shows how fluid the relationship between these peoples were and how sophisticated their political systems were. But also quite a lot of fun to think of them all copying each others methods, Saxons snd Normans adopting the whizzing a javelin at you in a mountain ambush style, Welsh strengthening the shieldwall and adopting cavalry etc.

But also... they were cultural and linguistic groups but socially and politically very mixed... the Eelsh developed Strathclyde which was a Viking settlement in Scotland in defense against the Picts, the Mercians allied with the Welsh to fight other Saxon kingdoms etc, it took Norsified Gaels to kick the Vikings out of Ireland etc

Just a really cool time

Nothing wrong with penny dreadful fantasy

People should enjoy a bit of high art and low

They keep people so busy with work and bombarded with fake media BS so they have less time to read. It’s just one of the many goals accomplished. Plus you go to American high school and guess what? Reading is for losers! Even the groups that have a book-club it’s all retarded shit and you have to listen to everybody’s lame “feelings” about it.

This section is “The Master Fantasies”

IMG_9721.jpg - 4032x3024, 2.43M

The Stand is actually very good. I prefer the Hobbit to LOTR. I like your system lol. Most of my fiction is mixed in with the Mrs'. My own shelf downstairs is mostly military history

There is a fine line between good low art and just trash.

Section on comic art here (not all my main stuff displayed because some are too big for the shelf)

IMG_9722.jpg - 4032x3024, 2.61M

And note
I AM ACTUALLY RELEARNING HOW TO READ WELL
The touchscreen fried many of us

Still remember the MC staring at bouncing naked tiddies in Ogre Ogre

Even trash is fine as long as you maintain perspective. It's junk food for the soul, though.

I like comic book art. I was always a big Asterix guy. Tintin. The Phantom. I liked pulpy stuff that felt like it was another era

Just one of several shelves.

Try finding the omnibus’s of The Question. I want to get them myself but I got too much other things going on

I am sure it will smoothen out over time
A well read man is better prepared for whatever comes

Which version? There's like 5 or 6 different editions of it

what am I reading currently

Picrel for inspiration while drawing chaturbate hoes

1000001611.jpg - 500x500, 31.56K

Is there anything wrong with this version of White Power?
Asking because it's much cheaper and easier to find compared to other editions. Is it (((updated for a modern audience)))?

WP.png - 372x587, 209.22K

A lot of those sort of prints are unedited, but just shittily printed, not terrible because you shouldn’t have to pay hundreds for something like that, but they could be a lot better.

Offset pages, or faded text from cheap presses. Bad graphics. That sort of thing

The first two Xanth novels (all I've read so far) are strongly antifeminist and challenge current notions of gender roles and relations. As such, I'm not sure they are low art. They are in the form of cheap fantasy, but the particular portrayals can be read as highly political and controversial. Perhaps judgment of their value depends on the social context at the time they are read. When the Xanth novels were written, gratuitous sexism for humorous effect was not as outre as it is now. If these novels were written today, I don't know if they would be avant-garde or reactionary, perhaps both at the same time.

what are you reading currently?

The Exchange.

what have you read that you felt was overrated?

Something that was from Jordan Peterson. [didn't finish, garbage].

what’s something you still need to track down or really want?

Circle of 9 attendance records.

Nah pretty sure they are bro

I already have pdfs of all that stuff man. I won’t read it that way. I need a copy I can hold. I thank you though

Is your rifle like that to bait replies?

Good bait until you laid it on too thick at the end.

What makes the distinction? I would say the extent to which they are along the lines of the cultural flow of the moment. Anything that recites the verities of the era, or at least comports with them, would be low art, and that which challenges them is high art. Or would you say the distinction is something different?

Nobody knows what they are and they are about fisting a bitch in space? There is no current discourse about Xanth except here?

+Suicide Note by Mitchell Heisman but I don't have a copy.
In order:

2. Diplomacy

Are these actually worth reading?

Is your rifle like that to bait replies?

Bro that pic of the Covington books is old af. He ain’t the one who took the pic

Forgot to mention these are just my favorites.

No one? This far down? Fucking really?

BHAS.jpg - 309x400, 33.42K

No, Covington is basically NatSoc Chris-Chan. The books are The Turner Diaries stretched out to Harry Potter-length. At least The Turner Diaries is classy

I haven't read the part about fisting a bitch in space, so I don't know about that. It's more that women's value is only in their appearance. Men know it. Women know it. Anything else is pretense. The point is made explicitly and exaggerated to the point of humor. Men go on adventures. Women stay home. Men strive for the good, women tempt and manipulate men away from the good. Women, generally speaking, are worthless: that kind of misogyny or sexism. It's not about physical abuse. It's about moral and mental worth. I think that's a greater challenge to today's notions than just beating women.

But if your criterion of high art is people talking about it, then you're right. It's not talked about. Some of that might be because of when it was written. At the time, it would have been only slightly subversive. If it were written and well marketed today, it would be talked about as something to be banned. I can't think of anything new that is as overtly and humorously derisive and dismissive of the feminist line to know how it would be treated by today's literati.

The Turner Diaries is classy

The author thought it was embarrassing and put more effort into the prequel to atone for it. It was originally a serial he shit out often last minute to fill space in a newsletter and was only cobbled together into a coherent book because of popular demand.

Oh okay, thanks for the warning. Now I realize why those books are almost never mentioned alongside The Turner Diaries and Hunter lol

I believe that's the 5th edition of Siege. He's too much of a faggot for the 6th.

Is the 6th one the definitive edition?

The 6th is the satanic/o9a edition of Siege. Nowadays, its a bit of a struggle to find on the clearnet.

limewire.com/d/IqRaL#5KsZwdqeG9

We take that award with honor and pride you know.

That’s an author for you, always criticizing their work. Those “embarrassing” works are sometimes the truest and most identifiable. It’s why The Turner Diaries is far more remembered than Hunter ever will be. Hunter was too didactic. I actually imagine Jimmy Stewart playing Carl Jaeger because of some of his shittily phrased dialogue. Like “Adelaide I’m still trying to solve this damn Jewish Question.” Lolol

Fine. I didn't want it anyways. It's probably covered in your cooties

OP is straight-up blessed by the number gods

IMG_9479.jpg - 250x250, 9.92K

That's just what happens when you do a lot of reading

I was kinda concerned for the board when no one noted my 88’s lol

Cool back to the future reference, HH

Reading this one right now, I fucking love it. Reading it makes me not feel bad for being a beast of prey and competing with the soul less humans on his gay planet earth.

Added to my list

It’s been too long since I’ve read something that seemed genuinely radical.

Withur We by Mathew B. Alexander and Unintended Consequences by John Ross (both free on pdf).
