Dude I was just thinking about this a lot recently because I was called into Jury duty for a fucking murder trial. Had to sit on jury selection for several hours and got to see the opening statements and all that.
It was all fucking theatrics. The judge, the defense attorney even the prosecutor just seemed to be "going through the motions". They played their parts fabulously but it was still clear they thought of themselves in a play.

At one point they let us jury go out for a bathroom break and when we got back the judge made a big show about how everyone needed to be back (there was like 50 people) and then after waiting like 5 seconds she just said "well I hope everyone, if not whatever"

And the worst part was they were treating us jury like a bunch of high schoolers being called down for an assembly at the auditorium. They absolutely refused to give any indication of how long we would be there. No one at any point would ever say a word about what we could actually expect to do except at the beginning the judge said

We will be here till 6pm today and tomorrow, maybe much later tomorrow.

They gave us a ton of paperwork about jury duty but nothing was ever said about needing to bring a lunch and they just kept implying it would take 8+ hours to finish.

They dismissed 80% of the jurors in the first round getting us out by 11 am. It was all theatrics,

There should be a quick-call number like 411 that anyone can call to be able to rapidly confirm the presence of real cops at a location or not. Cops at a door should be required to give the residents 3 minutes to call the line and confirm that it's real cops at their doorstep.
