Scotus issues 9-0 ruling that cops are not able to defend themselves if they fucked up on any legal point in any situation leading to use of force
There is now no presumption of do what the fuck you are told in an orderly manner and if it's wrong you can sort it out later in court.
Now people who want to fight with cops about what they think the law is can intimidate cops who may only be 80% sure they would be found in the right by threatening violence. If you are only 20% sure you are right you can threaten violence at a cop to even the odds. Odds are they back down, because fuck they get paid either way.
There's going to be no way to keep order.
The way it always has to work is: You have your rights. The cop can violate them, and you just let it happen, then you seek redress in court later if you feel your rights have been violated. You can't have fights breaking out on the streets between cops and robbers and we discover who is in trouble based on some chaos that happened during the melee. If you want people to be civilized you need to disincentivize the melee.
