The world used to be about just finding a way to contribute. Everyone made enough money on minimum wage to live a great life with a family. All that mattered was serving, even if you could do something better for yourself.

I like doing custodial/janitorial/maintenance work. I've worked several custodial jobs over ten years and I will say it's probably one of the most comfortable jobs, depending where you work. It even better when working the graveyard shift, no traffic on the way to work or on the way back, the boss and supervisors aren't around either, and for the most part I get to work in my own pace and I still get everything done. The best part in my opinion is using the scrubbing or buffing machines late at night while listening to my tunes, it's just so therapeutic and the vibe is so calming. If any of you anons are the more quiet or reserved kind and you don't like to deal with people then consider getting a job as a night janitor, I promise it's not as bad as some people make it out to be.

When I started at $13/h in 2017 a guy with 2 years experience makes $25/h running a 5 axis at Valiant. That same year Valiant sold out to a Chinese consortium and the coming January Ontario raised the minimum wage to $14/h.
By the time I was 6 years into my career I was running 5 axis portal machines with 46' x axis' for aerospace parts. I was making $23/h. The bottom floor for bidding on 5 axis machining time went from $200/h to $50/h meaning after taxes and insurance, it was very hard to pay someone over $25/h.
