Then I started researching the gospels myself and realized lots of what is in them isn't historically accurate, and there are lots of contradictions between them. Bart Ehrman explains this well. I've researched about the history of the Bible and that region and thought deeply about it for a very long time and one thing I keep thinking about when I ponder it extensively is just how fucking dark the actual real story of Jesus is.
Think about it: in reality, the actual real Jesus/Yeshua/Joshua was likely just some mentally ill guy from an unremarkable but well educated middle-class family who, through either his own schizophrenia or narcissistic megalomania or both, came to delusionally believe that he was the messiah talked about in the prophecies of books like Isaiah and become paranoically convinced that the jews were about to wiped out by the Romans/some calamity was coming.

The only reason we know objectively it's not entirely completely made up is the fact that Roman sources outside the gospels also reference 'Christus' as being an actual guy who lived and the fact that the story must have had some staying power to have been convincing and lasted for so long at the time. The concept of original sin doesn't even feature in Genesis itself, this is a retcon in the new testament later.
