I do think death threats are wrong and people shouldn't be making them. But my issue is that how could such a law infer context? For example, when I was a teenager or young adult my friends often joked telling me to kms but it was not really meant in a bad way. I just think its such a hard law to properly handle because if it doesn't tell the full picture it will be unfair. You could get people arrested for reasons that are kind of dumb.
My guess is that they can't be bothered in trying to differentiate between the average internet banter and actual threats, and honestly, it would be a waste of money to do so.
As if what they were doing wasn't enough of a waste already, like how common it was to receive threats through xbox or in counter strike or pretty much any online game back in the day, yet nobody ever took them seriously.
