australian helicopter carrier is way too tall. what secrets does she hide behind the hull
Australian helicopter carrier is way too tall. what secrets does she hide behind the hull
many kilos of cocaine
A complete lack of F-35Bs
Why does a helicopter carrier need a ramp?
It's Australian, which is part of the commonwealth, and it's kinda been a thing due to royal decree. You have a carrier, it has a ramp. No exceptions.
site isnt uploading images well
they can just float up or something
helicopter carrier
Since when do helicopters need a ramp to take off?
Vaguely related: Supposedly the very very early models of the Hind gunship required a small amount of forward movement to take off, and couldn't hover. They might have benefited from a ramp. But that's the only helicopter I can think of that would need it.
Much air for not sinking.
when the swells get big great whites would launch themselves onto the deck so they made the boat sit higher
its what they call them. sorry we cant all have nimitz class
its to launch f-35s you chinkindian
a fucking ramp
en.wikipedia.org
stop reeing about it not being real there are navies that have dedicated helicopter ships
It's absurd. Imagine being the "captain" of the "Heli-Carrier". Laughable.
i think ramps are efficient for launching aircraft from a carrier but they do have downsides. its not like american carriers dont have launch assistance, you guys just do it with more panache
Not just a flight deck. It’s got a big fuckin helicopter hangar and then a huge bay full of landing craft underneath that. Lots of large equipment in there
A HECKIN' SKI JUMP
Skateboarding.
How do you launch bomber aircraft with a fucking ramp? Wouldn't it destroy the landing gear?
maximum capacity 18 helicopters
Uh huh... "huge"
It can handle the big fat US ospreys as well.
en.wikipedia.org
launch assistance isnt worth the argument. sure a ramp discourages reverse landings but doesnt fully remove the option. american vessels without ramps also prefer to be landed on from one direction
i dont know. dont bombers have much longer ranges than fighters?
why does australia need so much space for its helicopters
Lol, now I want to see an edit with Tony Hawk flying off the end of it.
This piece of shit broke down and got stuck in Tonga for a week.
Does Australia even have that many helicopters?
brothel servicing all the lads on board
Following the Canadian lead on MAID I see. An Osprey will do the job quick and painless.
Well there are a lot of these ships going around the world all the time, and very seldom does anything like this happen. I just don’t want people thinking that carriers aren’t tall.
I assume in an actual conflict they would call on citizens to donate theirs. Otherwise they have 64.
Gives me anvil vibes...hammer time?
I don't know what MAID means, that's a US marines osprey, we don't have African Americans on our ships usually.
chinks or poos which has been more of an issue oz fren
The contractor that sells ramps probably offered the ship building contract manager a sweet high paying do nothing executive position if he purchases overpriced ramp with some of that free tax payer money that just appears from thin air.
I'm in Queensland so I don't see many immigrants from overseas, only from white flight states down south, I would imagine that the poo's would be overwhelming in Melbourne and the Chinks in Sydney.
I didn't know we even had stuff like that. Was it a hand-me-down from the USA?
Lots of large equipment in there
DEI interns?
Shitloads of blackhawks.
Neighbour was a pilot and used to fly over our house regularly, at ridiculously low heights.
lucky bogan. sadly you will feel the indian menace soon
Impressed you posted that guy, yank. He was a comedy legend.
Obligatory (you)
meant for
I'm in NQ. I was house hunting last year and every inspection i went to had a lineup of indians out the front.
It's fucking madness.
Ended up giving up coz i couldn't get a place.
I dunno, 18 helicopters sounds like a fucking lot to me.
mfw los angeles news crews outgun the australian military
this
So the disabled lesbian helicopter pilots can board it in their wheelchairs
I think it should have flames and a racing stripe
there really isn't that much of a benefit to catapults
Massive increase in complexity and maintenance and weight and crew and expenses in exchange for slightly higher takeoff weight and landing in either direction.
And the catapult is strictly worse in every way if it is damaged and unusable, whereas a ramp is going to work even if the ship's been shot up. I would not be surprised to see catapults eventually retrofitted onto american carriers.
All the helicopters needed to cover nigger and spic car chases and shootings multiple times a day in LA
We can infer the ship's intended cargo capacity by observing the water line and how much water mass the ship is currently displacing or is intended to displace under nominal conditions.
Then, we can infer what may be inside. If the ships is displacing a massive amount of water, then we can assume this is due to a heavy cargo load. If it is not, and is simply floating tall, it could be housing large amounts of sensor equipment, or it could be simply empty.
In this case, due to the helicopters shown, i'd lean towards the idea that it's either full of birds or bird parts. I'm sure if one was curious there would be schematics sitting around on the internet somewhere one could take look at to gather more information about it's purpose
OP is probably a chinese foreign interference troll, speaking of which:
A recent article in the Chinese Liberty Times newspaper discussed the better pay and conditions ROCAF pilots have compared to PLAAF pilots. The ROCAF commander Maj Gen Ge Hong stated:
Pay for ROCAF pilots and officers is far better than PLAAF pay theirs.
For example our junior Wei pilots start on $125k USD and get a flying allowance of $60k USD on top plus 8 weeks leave per year.
Our senior Xiao officers start on $165k USD plus the flying allowances Ge said.
ROCAF is expecting many PLAAF officers to come across after reunification for the better employment conditions and better American and European technology we have instead of outdated Soviet designs the PLAAF have to make do with.
Maj Gen Ge also stated PLAAF officers would be welcome to come across to the ROCAF at any time.
The Osprey is a mandate from heaven cursed by Mao to forever crush, tumble and burn any marine who steps inside its cargo.
Spiders?
naval aircraft have reinforced landing gears because landings are more brutal
pure naval bombers aren't a thing anymore
the biggest issue with ski-ramps by far is that the aircraft must have a high thrust to weight ratio to accelerate on its own power in a very short distance
The Osprey is a mandate from heaven cursed by Mao to forever crush, tumble and burn any marine who steps inside its cargo.
Well yeah they will do that if you repeatedly ignore a "chip burn failure" warning then proceed to select the farthest possible safe landing location knowing full well there is a significant possibility your gearbox has been completely shredded and engine 1 is about to experience catastrophic failure
I don't care if it's overengineered, I think the Osprey is fucking cool. If a squadron of these came to either rescue you or kill you with democracy you would be awestruck
ospreys' rate of accident per flight hour is relatively normal
The thing with the Osprey is it's kind of a "don't be stupid" aircraft where there are a lot of wonky shit than that can happen with rotor wash interactions, up/down draft and descent problems that don't really happen with normal rotors so you have to really understand the aircraft and you gotta know how she likes to dance if you go to take her to dinner
I am concerned the front might fall off.
But F-35s are VTOL
So the disabled lesbian helicopter pilots can board it in their wheelchairs
You're confusing our navy with yours mate.
I saw one at the pacific airshow on the gold coast do it's stuff, they're an impressive thing to watch. That particular Osprey and flight crew went on to all be killed in an exercise in the NT later that year. Female pilot as well but I just think they're too complex.
I kinda wonder if a plane that lands on its ass like a rocket wouldn’t be better as a VTOL
It’s not a new concept, the benefits is that you don’t need to include a fan or the big thrust vectoring which both add weight and volume
You just need more than 1G of acceleration form the engine which is the weight of your aircraft divided by the thrust of the engine, if it’s above one you can take off vertically like a rocket you don’t even need the wings
That is the goofiest looking piece of shit.
I would rather not have a carrier than have a ramped goof floater.
Floating gay nightclub.
It's obviously designed to be used with the F35, only not really because it might upset China. Our military is throttled, just like our economy.
I would rather not have a carrier
Flag checks out.
