White guy here. Girlfriend wants me to live with her in China and her family after I graduate from uni. Seriously, how politically liveable is it there? Got told the job market is better than here but it pays a little bit less. I can speak Chinese. I'm somewhat familiar with the culture.
White guy here. Girlfriend wants me to live with her in China and her family after I graduate from uni. Seriously...
How tall is she?
Anon if you have a GF, skills, and the ability to speak the language, I would absolutely jump at the opportunity. If you crash out somehow how bad could a few years in China doing something look on a resume.
Seriously, how politically liveable is it there?
A lot of these East Asian countries are of the same strain, they all (including Japan and S. Korea) aren't as free as you think of them to be.
Also I heard China will be opening up the Internet completely in certain parts of the country like Shanghai and Shenzen to boost their industries there.
Basically, if you are respectable and can hold down a job, you will probably be OK, as long as you refrain from having a political opinion, and are wary of locals trying to take you for a mark.
On the plus side, you can say whatever the fuck you like about anything else there; the government only cares about your opinion of the government, which is REFRESHING.
Chinese are blunt, and will tell you what they think of without shame or fear of upsetting you, which is good.
Still, the underbelly of life there is some africa-tier shit you don't want to be anywhere near, and if the state steps on you, you will disappear into the mud, never to be seen again, save as an anonymous gnawed-on femur discarded in some ditch.
Oh and also take a look at this and contemplate the future of the (tech) world
Yeah, I guess I should take the chance for the resume. She hints at marriage and wants us to buy an home there for me to spend the rest of my life there.
Enjoy your time behind enemy lines during WW3 retard, I'm sure if you hail Shitler you won't be beheaded and eaten by the yellow subhumans.
You will work the rice farms
You will have a shrine to glorious leader Mao in your house which you will show devotion for several times a day
If you speak, read, or think anything out of Chinese statist laws you will be arrested
You will be forced to serve a mandatory service in the Chinese military to make people believe China is not weak by peforming pointless parades
You will more than likely die when another chinese building collapses
...and if the state steps on you, you will disappear into the mud, never to be seen again, save as an anonymous gnawed-on femur discarded in some ditch.
Have you ever been to China, let alone outside of the UK? I know Mandarin and was born and raised in the US and lived in many parts of the world including Germany which OP is from. I worry more about this problem of abduction and kidnapping here in the West (especially in America) more than I do in China.

Even the land was defiled; so I punished it for its sin, and the land vomited out its inhabitants. (Leviticus 18:25, NIV)
You will be hit on constantly by other Chinese women and your gf will lose her shit, I'm not allowed to go back.
White guy here
What kind of white? Scandinavian White or more like Turkish White?
I see where this is going. Can't stop someone from making a dumb decision like this when a woman is involved. However, borrow that money from a Chinese bank in both your names and don't make a down payment. That way if she divorces you, you can skip out on paying the rest leaving her on the hook. Just think about it as a long term rental.
I see where this is going
Elaborate. Btw, she's 20 in college living at home with parents, I'm 24. we aren't millenials so all that future marriage stuff is far away. she wants to bring me home to meet her family on my trip there.
Everything is so cheap in China compared to Germany you could probably pay off a flat with a quarter of what your rent costs. Just don't be surprised if the government decides to do a controlled demolition of the building to support the economy.
And yet, you would most probably still be better off financially than you are in Germany...
Hope your social credit score is up to par, Zhang.
you must learn the art of Wushu Kuungfu
Rent is expensive as fuck in Germany along with taxes. Food is inflated. All the money I made here can be converted to yuan.
If she's a Chink and 20 then marriage is not far away, after meeting her parents the marriage expectation will be there. If they're from an affluent family (which they presumably are if studying abroad) their parents will want them married off ASAP.
However unless it's somewhere shit and boring like Beijing, you'll probably have a better time in China than you would in Germany so go for it. I worked in Shenzhen for a few years and had a great time.
They use gutter oil in China. Enjoy your speedrun to cancer.

one of the problems with china is that they designed too many CARCENTRIC cities. i watch driving/walking videos from around the world and to my surprise i found a shitload of cities in china not just shanghai that are full of 6 lane STROADS. i wish they would design cities centered around WALKING/CYLCLING, not driving. i made a list and every single video here is a different city and there are even more videos and cities but i got tired of timestamping all the 6 lane STROADS. and if you don't know what stroads are, feel free to ask. i'll also explain why they should stop building carcentric cities if you want

Fuck off and die chink.
and remember, owning a car means wasting thousands of dollars on a car, gas, maintenance, parking fees, toll roads, traffic tickets, insurance, etc. not to mention your ability to drive a car is regulated by government bureaucrats and you must pay for a license (and renewal fees).
Girlfriend wants white bf to move to china
how poor are you kek, you sure you're not just getting scammed?
White guy here
doubt
chinese gf
You're a genetic dead end anyway, might as well go live with the bugs.
You're a kebab nigger yourself, so it won't be a problem

clearly in China they want to corrupt the people of germany with political subversion
That's not even the tip of the iceberg. They use formaldehyde to keep noodles fresh. They use borax as a food additive. They have perfected the art of using chemicals to make pork taste like beef.
The air is also toxic.
Otherwise I might have moved there already.
kebab
not a turk, eitherway catch a train brapdeep
That would be fucking cool. Godspeed anon have a cool life
Is there anything lower testosterone than having a chinkbug gf?
Got told the job market is better than here
ahahahahahahahahahah
it's absolutely dogshit anon, job market here is a DREAM compared to (most of) China
but it pays a little bit less.
enjoy falling from the global top 10% income to the average
very few jobs, and only in only HK, Shanghai, Shenzhen and Beijing pay similarly to Germany
and there you'll pay Munich levels of rent (also forget owning property in China, the complete market is a scam)
how politically liveable is it there?
depends on what you consider livable
you think Germany has Problems with free speech and government overreach?
china has the same problems multiplied with 5x
i mean there are pros to living in China
generally services are cheaper
lots of beautiful nature
if you land a high paying job outside the most expensive T1s you'll actually have more disposable income
and if you like the culture around kids (aka MIL / FIL moving in with your once your wife gets pregnant), that's a positive too
but overall, life in Germany will probably be better
more money, FAR better work life balance, better infrastructure outside the cities, more freedom of speech, more freedom in general, more "truthful" society (people actually speak their mind)
really depends on your concrete situation and what you want
China is an extremely large place, with most of it's wealth concentrated heavily in urbanized areas.
Rural Chinese are on average extremely poor, and as a result backwoods China is still one of the places you can find unironic bandits.
China is a place of contrasts.
You can find the highest and lowest forms of culture in such a large country, with such varied standards of living, and to assume otherwise would be naive.
I am a student of history and anthropology, I do not speak Chinese, but I have spoken to the Chinese, as they are as I said, quite blunt and open about these things, as long as they are not couched as a political issue.
The Chinese government murdered half an entire ethnic group, and imprisoned most of the rest the other decade or so, because their religious and political activities were an issue for the Chinese state.
Human lives are not considered to be sacred in China; the security and prosperity of the state is more important than you, and if you are a threat to that, the Chinese government will promptly crush you, and make it like you never existed.
Their laws are harsh, and there is much corruption in the bureacratic elements of their society, because bureaucracy is simply formalized corruption wherever it occurs, and both Chinese civilization and Communism have inherently bureaucratic elements, even permeating their mythology; the classical Chinese pantheon are envisioned as a celestial bureaucracy.
China is only moderately more car centric
most people live in very walkable "neighborhoods"
that's just your block and the 2 dozens blocks around you
but everything for daily life will be there
and typically a subway / light rail / bus station which brings you into the rest of the city
the problem
that's all not very "dense" together
China is huge and public transportation only covers a small part, even of most cities
so you kinda need a car to get to everything that's not supermarkets or job office
so for daily live, it's pretty walkable
just not in the same way Germany or Japan are, where you can reach almost every part of the country by public transport and foot
this. asian males are the lowest testosterone "men" around. enjoy your Supreme Gentlemen sons
I spent years in China.
Chinka is mostly a shithole; don't fall for the chink propaganda that gets spammed on the board. With the tariffs and such you might actually be in danger if you live there; they usually assume every White person is American (yes, despite the mutt means on here) . You most likely won't be able to get any kind of respectable, well paying job there apart from illegal English teacher, which is degrading and humiliating.
On the other hand, the US and EU are collapsing in real time and white cuntoids are cooked, so it's a hard choice.
and there is much corruption in the bureacratic elements of their society, because bureaucracy is simply formalized corruption wherever it occurs
that's what a lot of people don't realize about China
and it hits really hard once you realize
western countries often have light "corruption" masked as lobbyism
China has the same thing, but formalised... literal corruption codified as official bureaucracy
that's far worse
I assume the job market is fucking retarded hard in China.
holy fucking shit, silly haircuts aside that was aesthetic as fuck. Probably the most beautiful dance performance I've seen in this decade.
are you the same guy posting this pasta in these threads or is this an epic meme I'm missing?
We will absolutely not have any maintained tariffs, Trumpshits will do capital controls instead.
I can speak Chinese
you don't casually learn chinese.
you are either a chink or 99% of the way towards being.
self study with gf and having a chinese social circle to expose to, including having wechat to talk online.
Lol then go eat dog with her you fucking race trader , fuck off chink
you need to be 18 to post here, larper
low T dyel
You need a work visa before you go. You can't stay and keep renewing tourist visa in country. If you're fresh from uni you'll probably only be able to work as an English teacher and be treated like shit since fresh uni grad if your boss is Chinese.
They want marriage and baby within the first year. I think she wants you to come live there to help raise the baby
holy motherfuck, a non-retarded, non-sperg answer
listen to that, OP: enjoy the chance you're given, learn as much as you can, and FUCKING KEEP SOME MONEY STORED in case you need to go back home in a pinch, but this applies every single fucking time you go to another country
but again i'm guessing you dont want a non-sperg non-retarded answer if you ask in Anon Babble
He is right, if you even hint at you don’t want marriage or baby straight away things will get ugly.
I'm an electrical engineer, 3D modeller/3d artist and will be a CS programmer. I dont teach english
All Chinese want to escape China, it’s strange she wants him to move there. Again my only guess is her and the parents have discussed getting pregnant but have not let him on it.
They generally want EFL's as English teachers
well, it's your life.
learning the language is the biggest barrier for entry to being accepted.
most chinese know good enough english anyway.
try not to become a white monkey
there will be 1000 more qualified chinese for every positions you apply to for programming, cad, electronics.
the only thing that will make you stand out is being a westerner.
If you are fine with having a half Chinese baby (I wouldn't be, going on my 3rd kid) you should go for it. Not becoming a dad in my 20s is my biggest regret in life. You don't get a perfect marriage, you make it work for the sake of your offspring and then it ends up becoming beautiful. I could think of way worse places for the future of my children than China if they were at least half Chinese.
t.37y old father of 3
yep, chances are unlikely you will be anything other than the liaison for Western companies wherever you go
They have to give a reason why they hired a white person over a Chinese last I heard. If the family has connections it should make things easier
