While IQ isn’t perfect, it’s more than sufficient for this argument.
The top ~15% of the cognitive distribution (IQ above ~ 120) — We’ll call them the post-humans — are entirely responsible for modern civilisation: technology, medicine, science, and complex governance. Everyone else, especially the bottom 75%, contributes nothing to innovation. They live within systems they neither understand nor could ever recreate. And these systems weren’t built by the world at large — just a few regions, mainly Europe and East Asia.
Post-humans don’t just participate — they design. The mathematics of computer science, the physics of rockets, the mechanics of MRI machines, the modelling of pandemics — these are completely alien to the average person. For most people, civilisation is indistinguishable from magic.
Doctors, engineers, programmers, scientists etc — nearly all emerge from this narrow band. Without them, society wouldn’t just slow — it would stagnate and collapse. Within a generation: no aircraft, no semiconductors, no functioning hospitals. Even basic infrastructure would degrade.
We know this because we see it: in countries with low average IQ and no cognitive elite, there is no spontaneous technological development. Everything advanced is imported, aided, or externally maintained. Left alone, they revert to tribalism, subsistence farming, or simplified colonial relics. No abstraction, no complex systems, no future.
The rest of functioning society is there only to provide food, housing and socialisation. The post human mind is a 4d concept to the average person. We need to stop pretending we are equal.
