Nah, my son has toys, he's 3. He likes blocks, cars, and rocket ships. Also he has a set of Aquaman figures for the bathtub. My daughter is aging out of toys now, she likes her Switch. But she had a lot of Bluey figurines. Never into Barbie or fashion dolls though.

Nah, my kids have tonkas, lego, cars, action-figures, dolls, doll houses, play kitchens, all the usual shit. Granted the missus and I made a concerted effort to keep them away from tablets and phones, but toys are still very much a thing.

Lego feels like it's one of the few toys that have really stood the test of time. Our family lego collection is comprised of literally half a century worth of different sets at this point, it just keeps getting passed on generation after generation.

the old 90s sets were so kino. they were mostly just random things thrown together and not overly designed. most sets these days are licensed shit where they create brand new pieces specific to a certain series, like star wars and harry potter. you can't even use the pieces in your own builds in natural ways. I loved the lego city police station with green windows and the jail cell with the escape route.

I have a bunch of the old roman figures (somewhere around 50) lost half to my little autistic cousin who broke them while I was away at a holiday trip. The only thing that sucks with the roman figures specifically is the helmet sides tend to brake.

I've got four children ages 2 to 10 and from what I've seen among other parents the whole "ipad kid" thing is massively overblown. All of my kids have ipads, all of them prefer physical toys and only resort to playing on an ipad if we're in the car or we're waiting in line somewhere like the doctor or DMV. Most other small kids seem similar, my theory is that boomers invented the ipad kid meme because they're resentful of anything they didn't have as kids and they also only encounter children during those times where a kid has fuck all else to do BUT play on an ipad, again doctor's office, DMV, restaurant, etc.
