I've helped raise 3 pits and I completely agree. They aren't vicious monsters the drooling retards here make them out to be, but they really do have next to no impulse control. Even something as simple as barrier control is incredibly difficult for them to reliably do. Definitely depends on the genetics a bit as well. I'd say you're probably worse off with a pit terrier mutt than with a purebread pitbull.

The females are a bit sheepish (but their violence turns like a switch when defense mode kicks in, which is usual for bitches, just not to this degree.) The males however are extremely strongheaded, stubborn, and want to get their way more than make you happy. My brother's pit is the single most stubborn & whiny ass dog I have ever known. If he doesn't get what he wants immediately, he whines. If he doesn't get attention, he whines. If he doesn't get recognition, he whines. If he sees something move, he whines. He also is incapable of not following someone. Dog is extremely insecure and I genuinely despise him.
