Either the empire undergoes regime change or the stormcloaks have to win and form a new empire. Since the former is not option, the latter is the only practical choice. You have to support the stormcloaks.

Furthermore, the game is perfectly clear that Ulfric is a man of destiny, a great man of history, if you will. He can shout, he defeats the high king, he leads a rebellion in which he fights personally, he subjugates all the jarls of Skyrim if you help him, and all this after he escapes the clutches of death right before an execution as dragons intervene. Meanwhile, the emperor is sitting on his fat ass doing nothing and Tullius is just an unremarkable general plotting in a tower. Ulfric is THE guy and the only one worth supporting. You can even headcanon an eventual battle struggle between Ulfric and the Dragonborn for the future of the new Nord-led empire that will fight the Aldmeri Dominion.

I've always picked Stormcloaks except for one playthrough just to see what the imperial quest line was like. Left me feeling pretty hollow. Anyway, what small brain retards who have never studied history don't understand is that it's not always better to be united but rather allied. Skyrim and the empire and Hammerfell could be allies and then if the Thalmor take over one capital city they still have a whole ass war to fight against the other two places whereas if it's one single entity then taking the capital of the empire is just straight up game over. This was the situation when England was trying to conquer an ununited Ireland. You take over one petty kingdom and the one nextdoor doesn't give a fuck and keeps fighting you. Hammerfell had more soldiers and they were higher quality than basically all other provinces. They also fought on home turf and used guerilla warfare. Meanwhile, the imperial army in Hammerfell defected.

Lol, I just started a new game a week ago where I'm playing a Nord Stormcloak. Been playing the game on-and-off since 2014 and I've never done the Civil War questline. I never liked how some NPCs supposedly die and some of the cities get fucked up.

It hasn't been as bad as I thought, but it's definitely prone to bugs. Definitely throw down hard saves before initiating each CW chapter quest. My first attempt at Battle for Whiterun got fucked up where the catapults were both firing into and out of the city, and after the battle, the catapults kept firing out of the city (I'm on the Stormcloaks side). Couldn't get it to go away, so I had to reload an earlier save and do it all over again. I genuinely hope Bugthesda has a better engine for TES6.

As soon as the last battle is fought and all territory is under my new control in my Nordic kingdom I then take the fight to Bruma and begin taking territory. The empires lands belong to my blood after all and a new dynasty emerges. Once the remnants of the former empire completely falls to my rule then we look for our revenge against those filthy subversive elves whose wealth has been confiscated. The Tiberian series is so underrated for its atmosphere, story, and worldbuilding. Tiberian Sun had one of the best post-apocalypse settings ever envisioned, in my opinion. Red Alert was more fun, especially in MP, but the Tiberian series was superior in every other aspect.

That's hard to answer. Westwood did a good job at creating two equally compelling factions with horrible flaws. It depends on the lore era, I suppose. For Dawn, I'd probably side with the Brotherhood because GDI at the time was just some Jewish UN military arm for Globalists. Tiberian Sun? Probably GDI, because the Brotherhood had devolved into an Abrahamic, fanatically religious cult who worshipped an immortal messiah (possibly alien), and was bent on baptizing the world with their mutating jew-crystals lol.

In order to do that, you need to stabilize situation first and stop bloodshed. This whole imperial invasion was obviously a huge fuckup but, again, it's already happened so you need to work with that you have on your hands. Nords can have their country back later, when everything will be over. Right now you beat opposition into a submission and work together to fight (((Thalmor))). After than nords can have a separate country and diplomacy back. You have to bite the bullet and work with empire there for now, even if you dont like it.

It's pretty clear that the Thalmor want the war to continue for as long as possible, and the devs intentionally made it so that ending the war for either side is good enough in terms of cucking thalmor. Yes, the empire is cucked by the thalmor, but if the war is over then they can focus all their efforts on rebuilding for another fight. Yes, Ulfric has a thalmor note written about him, but nobody reads it so they assume he's a sleeper agent instead of a convenient scapegoat to weaken the empire some more. The war ending early, and with the help of a powerful dragon/man abomination, makes the elves kvetch forever.

Why shouldn't skyrim be apart of the Empire? why should it be any more autonomous than the other provinces? "Why should Egypt not be annexed and incorporated as a Roman province"? I played both. But with evil characters I always joined Imperials like those characters that were in the Thieves guild and Dark Brotherhood.
With good aligned characters who didn't do those things I always went with Stormcloak and especially if I was playing a Nord which I did often.
I think I did it right.

The thing is the Thalmor didn't really care who won because they win either way. I think there's letter that talk about it in the Embassy. If Ulfric wins, the Empire is weakened which helps the Aldmeri in other parts or Tamriel. If the Empire wins, it helps the Aldmeri stamp our Talos worship and bring Skyrim under control. The Aldmeri play both sides, they are very sneaky and cunning also greedy with a lust for gold and power and many are religious fanatics who think only they are the chosen people.

Untrue. The Thalmor explicitly did not want a Stormcloak Victory. They wanted the Stormcloaks to be a constant drain on the Empire as they struggled to hold the province. I sided with the Imperials because their argument made sense to me at the time. They only peaced out with the Thalmor because they didn't have the manpower or the morale to fend them off at the time. It was a tactical maneuver, and if you complete the quest on the Imperial side, Tulius and Leggate Rikke even say "now we can focus our attention on tbe real threat, the Thalmor..."

I dunno man, something about the Stormcloak quest line just didn't feel like the right way of doing things. I empathize/sympathize with getting fucked by the peace treaty, and the religious restrictions, but in my mind it doesn't matter to me because I'm not religious and if they banned something like that I'd do it in private anyways.

It's all massive cope that doesn't stand up to the slightest scrutiny. The Empire never lost the war, its nobles just got scared when their mansions were the ones being burned down and they rushed to sign a submission treaty. Hammerfell told them to fuck off and successfully defended itself from the elves ("reeee but they had some slight imperial help!" then why the fuck didn't the empire continue fighting if a small portion of their army was already enough?).

The end result would most likely ensue a breaking down of the existing alliances as the various racial factions and regions engage in a form of turf war across multiple fronts. This would almost certainly benefit the already heavily organized Thalmor to take even more territory and power, possibly even establishing them as the dominant faction.

The only other groups that would have any sort of escape would be the Argonians (as the black marsh is hell), the Khajit (because they are kin to a desert land), and possibly the residents of Hammerfell. Everyone else would basically have to take Thalmor dick.
