I’ve tried dozen of scenarios of USA vs Vat country import/export, it always ends up the same.
Suppose Germany has vat of 10%
Germany buy $10 of steel. Pay $11 including VAT since cat is always charged to a German company.
Makes $20 widgets.
Sell in Germany $22 including vat. Must remit $1 (2-1) to government as sales tax net profit $10.
Sell to USA. $20 since no vat on USA sales $9 profit from sale and claims refund of $1 of it. Net profit $10
A usa company also always has a net profit of $10.
