the deportation of Abrego Garcia does absolutely nothing to fix the immigration problem in America. And we aren't just talking about "a deporation" but an extra-judicial imprisonment. We're not living in a world where our president is openly talking about scooping Americans off the street, non-citizens now but he has openly stated his intention to do the same to citizens as well, and imprisoning them with no legal representation or trial in a foreign prison.
It's the same thing that was done by the right in the 2000s with Guantanimo Bay. Was anyone's life made better by that?
You're celebrating this because you feel rage about the immigration situation in America, but imprisoning this man does not fix this immigration situation. It just ruins a life on the basis of no evidence whatsoever.
Further, I can tell you these latin gangs like MS-13 or Tren De Aragua are not opposed by the American government, but supported by them. The Venezuelan govt, for example, routinely decries Tren De Aragua as a CIA front used to promote rightwing political agendas in latin America.
And yes, the Trump administration is directly involved in that as well, infamously even inviting Juan Guido, America's attempted Venezuelan puppet president couper, to his State of the Union address.
It's highly likely that the people being imprisoned are, in fact, not members of these gangs but people who were informants, or otherwise resisted these gangs agendas.
This man works here and pays taxes. He has a 5 yr old autistic son. Tomorrow you'll wake up and there will still be immigrants all over America and that'll never change until you end the capitalist economic system in this country that makes them necessary. An economic system rightwing politicians support, expand and defend.
The only difference that is made is a human being's life will now be destroyed really for no reason.
