Bro think he can replace A10 warthog with a freaking spirfire
All
Yes
They're both useless
Submarine spitfire is a legendary plane, and bongs have every right to be proud.
I, for one, was always rather happy when A-10s showed up for CAS in Afghanistan.
its more aesthetic than any jet
Afghanistan wasn’t a war it was a Safari. You could’ve strapped hellfire missiles onto a piper Cherokee and had the same result.
Kino
my worst buy in dcs. completely useless since jets easily pick you off. a10 is basically only effective against shitholes with no airforce so you can drop a gazillion bombs on niggers from 15000 feet
It wasn't meant to replace a10
The skyraider was fantastic in vietnam
bring the original back, this one looks gay
A-10 is the best CAS aircraft in the world and is perfect for supporting ground forces in a low threat environment
At least it's not weaponized farm equipment
Which would be much cooler
Each of that rocket costs 20k btw
The majority of the cost of these things is the engine.
do you mean supermarine?
Submarine means going under water
This plane is an A10 compared to the embraer.Carries 3 times the munitions. Based on a crop duster that carries 12000 lbs of pesticide 6 ft off the ground.
No, it's the laser sensor and avionics. Those are guided version of 70mm hydras (5k a piece)
spbp
in a low threat environment
which objectively don't exist in 2025 when even Houthis have fucking MANPADS
I've flown this plane and it is way more fun than you can imagine.
I was referring to the civilian, agricultural use version in that post.
LOL, didn't notice the typo, my bad.
It does exist in middle east still and africa. Houthis sure, at this moment. But they only have anything because Iran keeps supplying them and you for some reason not committing.
What's wrong with the spitfire ? WW2 planes were almost all goats.
I'm confused now. I was talking about the ammunition on his pylons
it seems pretty risky to assume this though. Not sure why it's worth it when even an F-16 that hard banks after dropping a similar payload would just work as well, like the Jews are doing to Gazans.
A10 is combat effective but it caused so many friendly fire incidents lol
WW2 perfected piston engines but we have turboprops now
Submarine spitfire
The Nazi fears the British Submarine Spitfire
Looks sick, could still own some niggers. Put a modern turboprop in it kek
F-16 is costly to operate and for a number of reason it and every supersonic jet are inferior in the CAS. I mean I don't know I'm just a layman, so I obviously can't tell how risky it would be, but regardless as long as US does COIN you will always want to have the A-10.
Every other platform would caused much more
Submarine is a plane???
Kek
is this real???
Yeah I didn't stay on topic.
I was referencing the fact that the high cost of an air tractor is mostly due to the power plant.
Delete this
I still can't believe they used a simple airframe and still managed to fuck it up price wise.
Keep it up and I'm going to go full Samsung option on you fags
That's true. Love the tractor, it's utilitarian look. I wished they did adopt it. It would be such a sovl.
sprays the natives with lead
sprays the fields with pesticides
altitude always in double digits
Skytractor is beautiful, you take that back.
Need an aircraft carrier with a zeppelin hangar
Those started popping up then. I think the bearcat was a turboprop? Can't remember.
I don't know my WW2 planes but Im positive bearcat was conventional piston although the peak of technology
youtu.be
Greetings, fellow CAS enjoyers.
kek what mission was this even designed for? Seems like an experimental project to toss L3Harris if only 75 will be built.
skytractor defence force ain't having that shit
They are pretty cool. I get my own personal airshow every year watching some hotdog spray the field next to me, barely missing the trees and powerlines.
Budget, low intensity COIN
NEIN NOT ZE BRITISH WUNDERWAFFELS!!
Yep just good old insane radial. Turboprops I think require some level of expertise that wasn't there for awhile. You even went to Vietnam with Sikorsky helicopters powered by piston engines
Love this guy
CAS seems like low hanging fruit to be replaced with drones
kek
I love piston engines
bring them back, fuck turboprops. Especially those wacky 2 stroke diesel aircraft engines like the Jumo 205 and Napier Nomad. Those rock.
Su-25 was good for its time. Afghans feared it almost as much as they did the A10.
That's a big guy.
Rather be in an A-10 than a Cherokee if the guys on the ground probably have Stingers desu
I’ll take 2 used worthless hogs
That's true.
Just buy a Cessna mate
For gooks
cessna
flat 4s and flat 6s cant compare to the real engines
Do you sell dragons?
Engineered to be the quietest and most lethal plane in British defense history, the Submarine Spitfire
rather happy
this ignorant zogbot is unaware how inaccurate warthog fire can be. it only excels in video games and against goatherders that are kilometers away from any ground units that could get chewed up by splash fire.
At least American aviation assets will actually show up when requested. Our own attack helicopters never did.
What did you have in Afghanistan? Old 105s or apaches?
Germany doesn't operate Apaches and the PAH-1 variant of the Bo105 was never deployed anywhere.
When I was in Afghanistan in 2013, a handful of Tigers were stationed in Mazar-e-Sharif but they never bothered actually flying out to Kunduz Province when we had TICs.
Got you
Tigers
Ugly thing
lmfao nice joke, warthogs are one of the last quality built platforms for close air support, but you know that. they are pretty decent when your fighting an asymmetric war and there's no anti aircraft ability beyond the random 23mm/zis emplacement. picrel is beechcraft version of the supertucano
The A-29 Super Tucano aircraft, a light attack turboprop aircraft, demonstrated significant combat effectiveness in Afghanistan, particularly in providing close air support to ground troops battling insurgents. It proved effective against Taliban fighters and played a crucial role in disrupting their narcotics production centers. The Super Tucano's versatility and cost-effectiveness made it a valuable asset in counterinsurgency operations.
Replaces the A-10 with a crop duster instead of modernizing the OV-10 bronco
there were no functioning stingers left in afghanistan by the time we got there. battery pack on those cunts is only good for 10 years if stored in temp and humidity controlled indoor area...the ones in afghanistan shit out within 2-5 years due to temperature fluctuations which make the original 45 seconds of battery usetime for targeting turn into less than 5
i fucking love the ov-10 so god damn much it hurts sometimes
hideous looking plane
this beast has a 20mm with 10k+ rounds of ammo, and even had a ammo feed switch mechanism wayyy back in the 70's so it could "reload" in air
naah, it's a fucking beaut, as is any twintail aircraft platform.
I wonder why the argentine government didn't offer the Pucará which is a south american cousin of the Bronco
is that real??
never seen that plane b4, i like the cheek guns tho, has b-25 vibes, will look it up
lol the cowling, or lack there of looks kinda funni
Keep it up and I'm going to go full Samsung option on you fags
Oh nokia, he really means it, we're done for...
Or whatever the hell this thing is
I'm over it now, it's all just water over the bridge.
the sound they make is pretty sweet
I'm over it now, it's all just water over the bridge
For the best. Let by gums be by gums.
Also, my grandad was a top mechanic working on Lancasters, Spitfires etc in the war. He worked on the flying ones, not the submersibles... sorry, couldn't help myself.
The A-10 is only good at looking cool, if you actually look into its combat record the thing is just pathetic. The only thing it excels at is friendly fire incidents.
Last time any of this shit saw combat you niggers weren’t even born
Missiles made planes completely useless
The irony is the super-tuc is probably going to be more use than the f35 in practice and probably costs about 90 percent less.
Bro think he can replace A10 warthog with a freaking spirfire
Wasn’t a modernized variant of the p-51 an a-10 alternative/competitor that was being considered in the 80s?
It's ok, you can't have tin skin on here.
Any cool grandad war plane stories?
The A10 failed at its original purpose of killing tanks with its gun and was used as a CAS platform because the gun was good against infantry and it could carry lots of bombs. But the gun was inaccurate and under ideal circumstances 80% of it's shots landed in a 12 meter cone which wasn't that good and those are ideal circumstances which never come to pass.
Basically the A10 is useless in any peer conflict so you might as well save some money and get the super Tucano (which is better at CAS) and cheaper to operate with a longer loiter time for asymmetric warfare
Well, as a mechanic it's all interesting war background stuff. After the Battle of Britain they shipped out to the Far East and arrived in Singapore just before the Jam invasion. They basically retreated all the way back to Afghanistan, the Khyber Pass, and then went on the offensive all the way back again. Stories from Burma, India etc... They used to fly things like Lincolns over the Himalayas to do high altitude testing of the planes. Shutting off engines and letting them ice up before restarting them and stuff. Crazy days.
It's main purpose is CAS in places without proper AA capability. For that it absolutely fucks. But yeah don't try to eat soup with a fork.
Jam = Jap obvs. Just spellcheck is too dumb to realise. Thats where a little AI would actually be useful...
If you've ever seen what those fucking sky tractor pilots do with the loads they can carry you would be eating your fucking hat. Talk about close support.
Like cartels and domestic terrorism kek
At least it's not weaponized farm equipment
You mean blacks?
turn rate and loitering time is what it can do.
No BRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
He doesn't like based Super Tucano
He doesn't want to roar through the sky behind a giant piston engine like he's flying a goddamn Dodge Charger
He doesn't want to fly dangerous CAS missions strafing troops and tanks while dodging ground fire like a WW2 fighter ace
GTFO faglord you have shit taste
Yes, but this one is cheaper.
That's because Afghanistan had no airforce. If they did, the A-10 would not show up.
as long as you have a human powered ground element to your military, you will need CAS. war thunder gaming nerd.
the A-10 isnt designed for dueling fighter jets. this thread is full of retards.
I thought Helicopters are better for CAS. I use AH1Z viper, F15E and SU34 for my CAS in warthunder.
If they're are going to throw trash like this into battle they should go back to radial engines or use the twin engined things like the Bronco and Pucara. At least then some people will survive.
Your brain is not designed to hold more than one concept at a time. A-10 is only good if you've won already, making it a worthless design for anything more dangerous than killing uppity niggers.
people talking shit about the super tucano
that thing would absolutely wreck people it's not even funny how disgustingly cool it is
A10 is for CAS and isnt going anywhere. There would be fighter jets covering it if we were fighting someone who has their own air force. That 30mm cannon is hot when its ripping up talishits (seen first hand quite a bit). Why is this concept hard for people to understand? This prop aircraft is a cheap option for low intensity conflicts. You dont need expensive jets to bomb ooga boogas that live in caves with cellphones and AK's. Im shocked the US Govt didnt buy something like this 20 years ago. Think of all the money they could have saved.
I heard they took the Kiowa Warriors out of service. I miss watching those hunt talishits in the arghandab river valley. Flechette rockets do hilarious things to subhumans.
Proliferation of MANPADS has rendered it obsolete.
MANPADS
They have to find a better term, I always think of tranny menstrual products when I hear that.
atgms make tanks obsolete
Yeah, that's what it sounds like.
