I am broadly sympathetic to Roman Catholicism. I am not a perennialist so I don't think every founder of every religion is some enlightened master with the spark of God nor do I believe that all religions contain some core truths as evidence of God revealed to different peoples.

I do however hold the vaguely syncretic view that earlier monotheisms opened a pathway to the refinement of later ones, each accompanied with the extension of individual rights - something that doesn't reconcile with accusations of slave morality by definition.

Paganism is also fairly interwoven with Catholicism insofar as Catholicism is not just a kind of reform Judaism where the reemphasis is on idealism and not legalism but an incorporation of the Greek and Latin philosophical traditions to widen the enquiry about the nature of the cosmos and consciousness.

If I were to stretch it further into general deism I would still defer to Catholicism as the most culturally recognisable to me, and interwoven with my ancestry but being generous, say that maybe God encompasses consciousness, and that consciousness seems to want to expand across the universe.

I read Ancient Greek philosophy and mythology, listen to traditional European folk music (and folk music in general), and just kearn about and enjoy traditional European culture. I think Anient Greek philosophy jas a lot more depth and makes more sense and is more believeable than Christianity. Plato and Aristotle had a much deeper, more developed, and more rational understanding of the universe, morality, the nature of existence, and life, death, time, and the afterlife/the eternal.

For a materialist like me, reincarnation is simply the conversion of the particles that constitute your being into something else that eventually becomes part of a new living being. There is no "reincarnation" in the sense of your consciousness popping into another human being. You are gone forever but the particles that made you keep on going.
