That's true pretty much everywhere here. If you commit a predicated crime in a group and someone ends up dead, everyone gets charged for the death. The only exception might be if you're the getaway driver or something.

It really only applies to things like armed robbery. It has to be premeditated and organized. If you and your friends get into a fist fight at a bar and your friend kills someone, you won't be charged for the death.

Under this scenario all three would be charged with felony murder. Felony murder is an unlawful killing done in the act of an inherently dangerous crime (robbery, burglary, kidnapping, rape, arson). We consider these inherently dangerous because the risk of bodily harm or death to others is stupidly high. We consider the death that occurs in one of those as a natural consequence to murder so felony murder applies.
