This idea that the Christian church does or has in the past opposed science is not accurate at all. Almost all western science until fairly recently was done by Christians, frequently working directly on behalf of the church.
And it's no coincidence that when science in general divorced itself from Christianity by embracing (on faith) a core presupposition that there was no God or anything spiritual or supernatural, that it went insane and stopped making sense and started spewing out incomprehensible schizobabble explanations for things.

It doesn’t need that form of explanation. A more simple explanation is that humans are just capable of imagining things which only exist theoretically in our minds. We do not need to invent some metaphysical plane to explain why humans can imagine a perfect circle. It's not that carbon dating is a lie, the problem is the researchers chose a sample from the Shroud of Turin that was controversial because the sample they used was from an area of the cloth that was was repaired by nuns after it was caught in a fire centuries ago.
Some embers got on that section and new fibers were sown on, that's why the carbon dating was messed up in the 1980s studies and doesn't match newer studies.

To make it even more undeniable, he allowed himself to be brutally murdered, died, and then CAME BACK TO LIFE. He then spent the next 40 days going around visiting his followers with the resurrected Jesus being witnessed by hundreds of people before finally ascending into heaven for good.

The only ‘evidence’ we have of any of that is the Bible, which doesn’t count as actual, physical, scientifically verifiable and replicable evidence.
