Really? I looked it up and for example I have both Serbian and Croatian (EU) passport. To get a low level job in the EU I don't need any papers with Croatian passport, but to get a job in Russia with either I have to submit a ton of paperwork AND have a company vouch for me in advance, like, there's no way anyone would bother reaching out from there unless it's a highly specific job that they absolutely can't find anyone to do.

Most work unofficially or under contracts that pretend to have nothing to do with employment contracts (since it's much safer and convenient for employer this way considering how strict and hard russian labor code is). Russian courts however usually treat them as labor contracts when workers sue their employers
