I actually have long since stopped caring so much about the overall moral message for most media because invariably 99% of the time it's some herbivore feeler dogshit. I care more about how well put together the plot/structure and development of the story characters are(even if cheesey). The world building and depth to whatever the main struggles for the set series are also tantamount(Drama, fights, strategizing; it just depends on the genere).

Sometimes even trashsekai can be interesting if they put the effort into the inevitable system/rpg elements they'll ape from all others(aka play into that plot aspect).

Needless to say, 99% of trashsekai fails even as being a battleshounen kek; Because it's more about vain wish fulfilments or power fantasy(boring). Also 90% of anime in general fail at the prior listed categories I mentioned. Most anime is slop, even many golden oldies that boomers pretend is good.
