Best estimates iirc put the upper range at around 200k from ALL causes, the huge majority being disease. It’s not just a late-war thing either, early camps were described as being in very bad hygienic conditions which were improved on over time. We’ll never get a clear picture of this because Western society views researching this history as anti-Semitic and against the law in many places. Maybe a future society, if such a society wille ver exist, will piece something together but for now we just have to accept not knowing how close the estimates are.
