And that's a good thing. You Japanese guys chimp out over rice shortages all the time, with access to superior American rice you'll never go hungry again.

Japan's largest supermarket chain AEON to sell California-grown rice "Calrose". $18 per 4kg.

Literally a US Vassal

California in chronic drought can sell rice to Japan

Cotton and rice growers should be exterminated.

Do japs believe californians grow superior rice?

$18 per 4kg.

What's a bag of local rice normally go for?
That sounds very high

No, they will leave it to rot on the shelves.

No, foreign rice has been banned for a long time. That's why this is news. Generally rice is required to be grown in japan if it's for the Japanese market.

current average price per kg rice in Japan: $6

sell Californian rice for under $5 per kg

What's the target market? Aldi niggers?

Calrose is pretty good. I imagine a lot of families and some lower to mid range restaurants will buy it up. Maybe some conveyor belt sushi joints.

Somebody’s mad

No we hate their rice and it is objectively worse. I doubt these will sell.

The problem is the JA mafia runs the entire agricultural operation in Japan and they have been extorting the people and the government for subsidies, then continue to jack up the rice price. The powerful rice farmer lobby is behind this because it at least makes rice farming profitable, encouraging more domestic farming which is long term good to prevent food shortages.

But they shouldn’t be exporting for profit the cunts. And their goddam cousin in the diet shouldn’t be voting them billions to lower prices, just so the JA mafia can raise the, again next week.

Luckily I grow my own rice so I don’t deal with this bullshit, but rice prices have tripled or more since Covid and it’s complete bullshit.

Japan will get to experience American quality. This should yield excellent results.

What's the target market? Aldi niggers?

Yes. In japan everything and everyone is on a tight budget so this will inevitably be scooped up by everyone. Similar to rice shortages in china where people buy entire pallets of rice at a time and then sell it on the blackmarket when the stores are cleared out.
Japan itself has a long history of people manipulating the rice market.

$20 for 10 lbs is pretty normal imo.

I pay $50 for 50 pounds of thai jasmine rice but thats with the bulk scaling.
Japan tends to spend a lot of money on rice so this actually sounds like a budget option for them.

No it’s not banned and never has been, it just has a tariff on it.

My experience with US-grown rice is that it's pure shit. Literal garbage.
I wouldn't be surprised if 'Murica started ;pressing nips to start importing Uncle Ben's parboiled and the stuff rotted on the shelves.
But I guess we'll see. Or more likely we'll all forget about this story completely and never even notice it after today.

Millions of imported jeets.

I grow my own rice

What? Do you have a paddy in your back yard?

Atleast it's not colombian/venezuela products.

prices have already dipped twice since no one is buying colombian 'quality' eggs

KEK

japanese are rice autistic and buy rice based on region and part it with the dish accordingly.

We

This nigger is pretending to be a Nip on the 4chans.

not reading all that but you will never be japanese

mutts don't make a single good product and rice is no exception

He doesn't know

you vill eat ze goyslop

For your information, our actual shit-quality rice is grown in Florida, and we give it to thirdies as part of our aid packages.
It contains heightened levels of arsenic.

Your literally on one right now
I’m really stating to think this board is brown

they always buy cali rice
they own the cali rice farms

Memeflag

Worse than pretending to be Japanese, honestly.

don't pretend you would buy mutt rice instead of japanese rice

Nah, you're right about that. Before coming here I thought all rice was the same but you can tell the difference.
I buy American beef, though. They don't do marbling properly here, wagyu is extremely overrated and overpriced. A cut of meat being 85% fat is not choice.

Who was the retard who thought it was a good idea to grow an aquatic grass in the middle of the desert (when there are water shortages no less)? Also the soils in the western basin and range are LOADED with arsenic. And rice is an arsenic accumulator. This shit is SUPER TOXIC

It is nip approved.
I grew up in Hawaii, its what we ate.
The only rice we ate actually, the only rice Japanese tourists like as well.
They would ship it over from California.
There's a specific brand i've been buying forever and I just know it by the logo.

Yes Osaka was built by rice scammers

What the hell I figured Japan of all places would have cheap rice but my rice is half that price

Told you fuckers this would happen. My jap friend just had some (he's poor) and said he couldn't tell the difference in taste. JAF got too greedy, Trump's pushing free trade, Japanese growers are f'd.

Anon, anyone can be a rice farmer and get subsidies. There are basically abandoned/half-abandoned paddies everywhere these days as the older generations die off and their children don't want the land (but selling / developing farmland is troublesome apparently).

based
now buy some coca-cola too

fuck that. coke still hasn't fired its DEI division and disavowed anti-white racism.

I dont like rice.
Just like potatos i've never understood what good they can be used too.

the good coke comes from mexico anyway

NIPPON #1

Unironically this. California is historically always semi arid. Groundwater has been pumped at unsustainable rates for a long time to grow cotton, rice, tree nuts, you name it. The big agribusiness cartels in the valley have a lot of influence in Sacramento. There's an end game and it won't be pretty. Aquifer collapse in the San Joaquin valley.

it's cheap food that provides calories. rice and potatoes pair well with other, more succulent flavors.

how da fug they grow rice. or almonds or anything for that matter
all i hear is drought in california

they irrigating ??

it's as if it's deliberate to collapse the food supply
time to end the reign of the delta smelt

I like potatoes because I'm an idiot and have a hard time getting potassium from anything else other than chicken breasts.

There needs to be a balance. Growing rice has to be profitable, otherwise Japan might become over reliant on imports which as an island is a real bad time.

But they shouldn’t use their position to extort non farmers excessively.

I mean it sounds like its a good thing. Thats precisely why you introduce products from the outside to your economy, to keep the mafia out of monopoly. And if the product is of inferior quality, the people will self-stabilize the market.

For a semi arid area California actually gets a fair amount of rain and snow. Most of the annual flow of the Sacramento River goes out to the sea.

Kek. Can't wait for the Japs to make "AmeriRice" dishes with ketchup and hot dog bits.

chicken rice is ketchup + rice + cheap meat used in omuraisu (hugely popular meal here)

anon...

yes, we're aware japanese think children's fare is high class cuisine
wait till they try chicken nuggies and macaroni and cheese

we have (good) chicken nuggets and macaroni and cheese. They don't know about good homemade mac & cheese though.
A lot of american food they unironically do better, because the ingredients are better and they took it and improved on it (kinda like koreans & fried chicken).

Calrose is $38 here for 5kg.

Ah so it already exists? I knew that was some shit they would make. Guess I'll try to make it one day myself and see if I like it.

I fucking wish it was only $20.

buy my XYZ, or else

Typical Mutt bhaviour.

calrose is pretty decent, youll like it.

Here's what I do:

cook white rice (a little on the soft side)

throw rice in a fry pan with ketchup, a dash of onions sauce, a couple dashes of mirin (sugary/sweet rice wine)

mix in chopped up meat (bacon, etc.)

throw on plate, cover with omelette

squirt more ketchup on top

Make a lot of rice and put it in the freezer for later. Then you just have to make omelettes and microwave the rice next time.

Nice, thanks!
Have some Swedish banana-curry pizza in return.

Thai rice is the best rice in the world
buy our rice fellow Asian and former ww2 ally
cheap and superior
buy Thai rice

Bud the part where the foods grown isn't semi arid desert, thats down in LA and San Diego. San Juaquin valley is actually marshland, its just had the shit worked out of it so much you can't tell anymore.

chill, low IQ chimp
it didn't say we are buying

$18 USD for 4 kilos

I can get that for $4.46 USD

add the avocado growers, the wineries, and the faggots who run wonderful pistachios, those are the worst pistachios i've ever eaten, never buy them, i weep for those who only know pistachios through that piece of shit company

I thought pineapples were the worst abomination you could put on a pizza... I was wrong.
