Shortly after one such M&A about 15 years ago, my boss was resigned. Took his shares and quit to go some place else. I had to report to his immediate boss one level up, but since my job is to run some systems and reports I never spoke to that new boss.

Then there was a re-org and that new boss got moved to some completely different division. He has since left the company too after a few years. So for 15 years I've had no boss.

Im not connected on the org chart. I dont have an annual review. I get the normal flat rate pay increases, and the systems I'm in charge of running no-longer have any live applicaitons on them. You could switch them off. Actually I think they are virtual machines now...somewhere.

I havent done any work in about 12 years. I just complete the mandatory HR bullshit surveys and so on, went home about 10 years ago and "work" at home now. I only have 5 more years until I retire.
