All of them borrow from earlier times. Or it exaggerates stories, turns things supernatural, people get deified after death etc. It is like building lies on top of lies.
Abrahamic Religions: Origins and Fabrication Points
Judaism
Earliest version was henotheistic, not monotheistic (YHWH was one god among many). Baal was worshipped there 500 years earlier!
Torah likely compiled during/after Babylonian exile (~6th century BCE).
Stories of Exodus, Abraham, Moses may have been:
Inspired by existing Mesopotamian myths (e.g., Enuma Elish, Epic of Gilgamesh).
Invented or exaggerated to forge identity in exile.
Archaeological evidence does not support a large Exodus, conquest of Canaan, or united monarchy under David and Solomon.
Earlier Jews living on Elephantine Island make no mention of Abraham Moses etc. All are polytheistic there.
Christianity
Built directly on Jewish scriptures, but with reinterpretation.
The earliest gospels (Mark, Matthew) were written decades after Jesus’ death, with theological agendas.
Paul's letters (older than the gospels) transformed Jesus from a Jewish apocalyptic prophet into a divine cosmic figure.
Borrowed heavily from Roman mystery religions, Zoroastrianism, and Hellenistic philosophy.
Heaven, hell, resurrection, virgin birth all appear in earlier religions and myths.
Islam
Claims to be a restoration of pure Abrahamic monotheism.
The Qur’an incorporates:
Jewish and Christian stories, often with altered details.
Elements of pre-Islamic Arabian culture, including jinn and tribal codes.
Muhammad’s role as the "Seal of the Prophets" gave him unquestionable spiritual and political power.
Qur’an compiled after Muhammad’s death—some parts likely edited or selected under Uthman (~20 years later).
No witnesses
No miracles
Was illiterate.
Early Islamic conquest spread religion rapidly—often by military and political expansion, not spiritual revelation.
How do billions of people buy this bullshit?
