I recently rewatched all 3 with my wife who had never seen them. Boy was T3 a disappointment. Just a generic sci-fi action flick without any aesthetic or mood. You fly from one scene to another without a moment for the characters to actually discuss what the hell they’re doing and why. And the main antagonist is basically a parody of a terminator.
You really get to see how awful movies are when you rewatch them as an older man.

i think it's just the early 90s vibe of la that was depicted so perfectly. for one thing, that's basically the go to movie if you want to examine cali wali in the 90s, or even america in general. but even when i was little, that film just had a magnificent aura about the environments, i remember how full of hope i used to be that i was going to get to grow up in such an awesome world. heartbreaking to think of how far we've fallen.
