The cops who helped me were alright. It was kind of weird when I picked the criminal out of a photo line up and they acted all strange like they didn't even know if he was in there or not and when I said "it's this guy" , their demeanor suddenly changed and they said "yep, we know that's him and we got evidence and he's going to get prosecuted" . If I didn't make an effort to press charges, they wouldn't have done anything. The cops showed me all the special buttons they have in the car and put the lights on, it was like a ride along.
The only other time I've been in a cop car, I was in the back uncuffed because I convinced the cops to drive me home rather than charge me with public intoxication. I was walking home and about a 7min walk away from my house. It was around 2:30am . Those cops weren't expecting someone to ask for a ride and they didn't know what to do but they agreed to it. They were threatening me with jail before that. So I told them I had to work the next day and just wanted to get home to sleep and that they were stopping me from getting home and getting to work tomorrow and they could give me a ride. They followed me out of the car to my house and watched me unlock the door and go inside to make sure I really lived there.
