La situation est très tendue, les gens en ont marre de la criminalité qui augment et du niveau de vie qui baisse. Les musulmans prennent de plus en plus de pouvoir. Des généraux avaient alerté, on les a ignoré.
Je vois plusieurs événements inevitables qui vont mettre le feu aux poudre:
- L'election d'un parti d'extrême-droite : ils sont de plus en plus populaires, les gens sont de plus en plus énervés et rien ne change, ils vont forcément finir par gagner
- La fin de beaucoup d'aides de l'état: on est un des pays avec le plus d'impôts au monde et l'état perd quand énormément d'argent. Ils vont devoir arrêter beaucoup d'aides aux gens qui refusent de travailler
- L'economie du pays qui continue de sombrer: les entreprises ferment ou déménagent, il y a de moins en moins de travail, et je ne vois pas comment on pourrait régler le problème en restant dans l'UE

We would or at least Trump would. Albertans seem easier to integrate into America. An independent Quebec would be a pressure release valve for the leafs who don't want to be Americans after we take canadian land. We also aren't that equipped to accommodate a lot of people who speak french or demand that french be spoken to them. It's very foreign. We have lots of people who speak Spanish and other languages. We could make it work if we had to take in quebecers, but it's not as easy as integrating albertans. If quebecers became Americans they would have to accept that the french language in the USA won't be treated the same as it was in canada. There won't be signs in french everywhere. English is the official language of the USA

I don't know either. Independence isn't possible until Canada falls apart. It's a confederacy, a weak form of government. Secession is much easier. We were only briefly a confederacy and one of the reasons we moved beyond that and federated was because of tariffs between states (which Canada still has). It's amazing that Canada has been able to last so long as a confederacy, but it is time for the Canadian experiment to end. We just need to pull one province away and it all collapses and Quebecers will have their opportunity for independence and it will make sense to voters, given the circumstances.

It wasn't until Trump decreed it this year. It was de facto the official language but there was not any official proclamation from the federal government saying it was until Trump did that this year. Almost 250 years to declare English as the official language. I think the people who founded the USA knew that English was the official language and maybe thought it was nonsensical to make a law saying it was because it was self evident
