More than two weeks ago, a larger column of at least 18 Cheetah SPAAGs without insignia was spotted by one of my followers (@SpassovVladimir) in Eastern Germany. It can be assumed that the train was travelling eastwards to #Ukraine.

Up to 60 Cheetah SPAAGs (Dutch version of the Gepard SPAAG) were bought back from Jordan by the US (up to 45) and Germany (15). However, the at least 18 SPAAGs visible in the images exceed the remaining pledges made by Germany, so in my opinion this should either be a mixed delivery (Germany and the US) or a pure US delivery.

OPSEC disclaimer: I waited more than two full weeks before publishing the images to preserve OPSEC. This is more than enough time to bring the equipment to Ukraine, distribute it to the units and for them to be already using the equipment.

I also want to point out, that Gepard SPAAGs and Cheetah SPAAGs are being used far away from the front line to defend cities, military installations and critical infrastructure throughout the whole country. I'm also not going to share where in East Germany the images were taken.

Over the last night, from the local time 00.00 of May 16, the Russian Federation attacked Ukraine with 112 UAVs and other drones, launched from the Russian regions of Bryansk, Kursk, Orel, Millerovo and Primorsko-Akhtarsk.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine monitored the air attack and repelled it, so that at the local time 09.00 of today it was confirmed that 73 “Shaheed” UAVs and other drones were shot down and that 36 bait drones were dispersed without consequences.
The attack was targeting the Ukrainian regions of Odesa, Zhytomyr, Chernihiv, Mykolaiv and Kyiv.
As a result of the strikes on the Odesa and Belgorod-Dnestrov districts, 3 people were injured: one man received simple medical care, another is in moderate condition, while a woman is in extremely serious condition.
During the night, at about 03:30, after having shot down 3 air targets using the aircraft cannon and while engaged with a fourth, an Ukrainian F-16 aircraft lost contact.
An emergency situation arose on board: the pilot took the aircraft away from the inhabitated ground and successfully ejected.
The Search And Rescue team found him quickly and the pilot was evacuated: the pilot is fine in a safe place, his life and health are not in danger.
The Russian Ministry of Defense reported the shooting down of 65 Ukrainian drones on the night of May 16.
Of these, 43 were over the Black Sea, 21 were over the sea close to the occupied Crimea and 1 was over the region of Belgorod.
Drones attacked the occupied Crimea: explosions occurred in the area of Yalta, Alupka, Sevastopol and Perevalnoye.

Fabio’s report contains some interesting points, so let me dive a bit deeper into them.

1. The current ruzzian offensive

The ruzzians currently have superiority in manpower, and according to the latest reliable information from within ruzzia itself, they are mobilizing about 7,000 more soldiers than they are losing.
This applies to the month of April.
Additionally, they are transferring troops from Kursk into Chasiv Yar and the eastern flank of Pokrovsk (especially to the area where Vadim’s unit is holding the line).
The number of attacks per day is high in both locations.

At Shevchenko and Kotlyne, we have decided to secure the lines we currently hold and not go on a major offensive.
This surprises me considerably.
I am also surprised that we are not sending massive reinforcements specifically to Vadim’s area and reopening the main road.
I’m also surprised that ruzzian attacks in the Kursk and Belgorod regions have decreased significantly in strength.

Even their attacks in Kherson Oblast and Zaporizhzhia Oblast, where they had tactical success earlier this year, have dropped in both frequency and intensity.
What we are now seeing is a significant ruzzian mobilization of resources around Chasiv Yar and Yelyzavetivka.
There are both troop movements and newly mobilized soldiers being sent there.

Their attack vectors go through wastelands and open terrain, as they avoid direct assaults on larger settlements.

Pokrovsk is still too big of a bite with the resources they currently have — they would need at least 100,000 more men to have even a small chance.
However, they have a greater chance of success if they continue along the main road toward Kostiantynivka.
If they manage to take full control of Chasiv Yar, they could approach from two directions simultaneously.

Will these new ruzzian concentrations of resources succeed in doing this?
I strongly doubt it, mainly because they lack enough vehicles.

At first, the idea feels completely unrealistic, but upon closer inspection, the picture changes.
We are attacking ruzzian military targets deep behind the lines, and at the same time, we have quietly carried out both larger and smaller attacks on targets on the Crimean Peninsula.
These attacks have increased drastically over the past week.

We landed last fall with a small group that carried out sabotage operations and then withdrew. We have been training intensively with the landing boats donated to us by Sweden and Finland.
Recently, we have knocked out a large number of ruzzian air defenses that they brought in to replace those we destroyed last autumn.

If a landing operation is imminent, we know it will begin when we take out the Kerch Bridge. The second phase would be to send our naval drones, fully loaded with FPV drones, to eliminate ruzzian command positions.
After that, our fighter jets would come in.
