Falling Down is from 1993 and it's quite an early subversive movie. I know it goes back but it's one of the first that seems so blatant about it.

But Eastwood as a filmmaker is highly talented. Clint is a great director. He learned closely and thoroughly from his heroes and mentors Sergio Leone, Don Siegel (an under-recognized absolute master for whom 1968's 'Coogan's Bluff' was kind of a misfire, he did far greater work)
Clint's films are finely crafted and pay close attention to detail. He deserves more credit just as a film director
