I drive by swaths of affordable housing apartment complexes- Nobody here owns them. The landlords don't even live in my city. I drive to the more rural area, and I see Dollar General. Family Dollar. Shell stations. The neighborhoods have more and more homes with 6 or more cars parked outside of them- that means multiple adults or families living in them. That means they're renting them. The chicken plants nearby? Owned by Tyson, or Koch. They won't even hire locals anymore- they import immigrants to pay them less. The same thing goes for the farmland- nobody here owns any of it.
