Which job, and how did this change your political outlook?
Has a job ever desensitized you?
Truck stop.
I say no more.
I was a gay prostitute in Vegas for quite a while, needless to say…. I’ve seen some things.
Back of house, restaurant.
You can see racial work ethics at play.
Working with beans made me support ICE. Trash people
I hated fast food
Fuck that shit
My job made me hate niggers and I already hated niggers. I just turned double racist and hated double niggers.
Nursing assistant. People are just sometimes fucked. Though if you have money it is better and can eliminate a lot of suffering.
Retail and hospitality made me think the worst of everyone instantly.
Union job guy here. I don't give a fuck. Fuck you and your stupid shit, I'm just going to do whatever I do. You don't like it go pound sand. I'm here till 2:30 so nothing really matters I'm getting paid the same no matter what.
Retail also fucking sucked for me
Probably worse than fast food, but I think I was unlucky
i was in management with a true jew (rat face with crooked nose), his behavior redpilled me more than Anon Babble could
Based elevator technician
I would rather work at a home depot or lowes than be in hospitality. Having to cater to every customer at a hotel sounds like hell. Atleast with retail you help the customer and they fuck off and the next one rinse and repeat for 8 hours.
Construction
Blacks -98% incompetent and fuckin lazy
Latinos- incredible hard working “ rats” Somtimes you’ll see the Hispanic who is so job scared they will make his crew suffer because he don’t want to loose his job
White- can be i hard working or a POS
Veterans - all fuckin lazy hate working within fuckin veterans they all brag about being 100% disabled raking in 4500 a month while getting another
Check on top
"Hey can you help me find the lumber?" Yeah aisle 6. Rinse and repeat and your days done. Retail is easy.
I worked at a 1-hour photo joint (extinct concept) that desensitized me to horrible accidents and gore because it was my job to develop accident photos for the state police
I actually produce millions of dollars worth of parts for a multi-billion dollar company. I'm not going to play any games.
my last job. my boss was jewish. he destroyed my life maliciously.
It must be nice working for Sony
Gay pot farm
What happened?
You're given daily examples of why the Irish were compared to niggers.
Has a job ever desensitized you?
Being unemployed for a year, one of the roles i was applying for they kept not choosing me, then a few months later re-post the same job and i'd apply and i'd be turned down again.
This happened at least 5 times for this very specific job for this specific company. 2020 roles around and i decided to try something different, I'd apply saying identifying as hispanic. I shit you not they called me up, there wasnt even an interview, they told me to show up for work on monday.
It really through me off, like i was unemployed for a whole fucking year because im white. Well, my job they wanted me doing things very inefficiently, so I got into Python and wrote a script that did my work for me. A month in Covid hit and I got to work from home.
For years I'd work only an hour a day if that because they'd give me some dumb task with a deadline a month or two out and i'd accomplish it within a day or two with a new script. They wanted a lazy beaner they'll get a lazy beaner
Eventually i decided "i want to broaden my skillsets" so i came clean and they moved me to a different team with $35,000 boost in pay. I continued to perform, but just a bit, i still didnt like the company.
Than last year they did a zoom call with 300 employees i couldnt see and we couldnt chat and told us we were being laid off. Everybody got a lump sum but taking my 5 year tenure into account, they threw $25,000 (after taxes) at me. Oh, and LDAP changes take time to propogate so whilst i couldnt log into any servers i could still pull a fuckton of repos
Retail is only hard when you deal with angry customers but thats about it. Fast food is definitely worse than retail but still better than being construction.
I was 16 and worked a fast food job. Worst customers were black people. Had a lady cuss me the fuck out over nothing. She was tapping the drive thru windows with her nails and shit while screaming like a lunatic. Traumatized me hard at the time
tried to quit, got the black list. you're not allowed to say no.
What job? If you’re allowed to say
I’m assuming a security clearance or something on par with that was involved?
I guess it depends wildly on what retail environment you’re in. In my experience, interactions are more like:
can you help me find the lumber?
Yes, aisle 6.
where is aisle 6?
Just down there, to the left of the paint stand.
the ain’t stand?
The paint stand
it stands where?
The lumber is in the aisle about 30 feet down and to the left.
*ten minutes later*
this pine is too knotty.
We have several grades, you picked the lowest.
but it wasn’t on the floor
And so on. You’d be amazed how much time one person can drain.
I worked around homeless people.
They are all dangerous pieces of shit.
not a job but volunteering in one of the worst hoods in the northeast US
Yep. Door dash. Realized lower middle class and working poor are more generous with tips and more friendly to delivery folks etc. Rich folks are cheap scumbags who treat laborers like shit and look down on everyone.
Best tips I've gotten are from blue collar types and people that live in mobile homes, surprisingly. I got talked to like I should fuck off and die by wealthy folks, zero tips. So I just completely avoid wealthy neighborhoods now.
Respect man
Fast food brings out humanity's base nature(not great).
I used to work near a shelter. I got to know some of the local homeless. Some were okay, many were lunatics. The thing was, the shelter would turn you away if you were losing so there was a high concentration of particularly drugged out homeless around in the evenings.
Yeah, it sure does buddy
My coworkers were based though. Working at a plant nursery was a bajilion times worse imo
Working in education in southern california (tutoring in students' homes and working in the classroom) flipped me against illegal immigration hard. even as a young retard I realized that these guys would never integrate. they often don't speak any english in the home and don't engage with any english media. the only english exposure the kids get is at school and even that is sometimes limited to just their teachers. every illegal immigrant family is 3+ generations of poverty and illiteracy.
Completely opposite here, rich fags gave me tips, told me "sorry for calling you on a rainy night". Poortards did not even bothered to give us the proper address and were always expecting us to cover long distances in minutes, I once tried to explain a particularly uppity customer that I would've needed to travel at over 100 km/h nonstop to do that, "so what".
I used a bike just like pic.
What percentage in your opinion were able to speak English coherently and hold a conversation with?
Oh forsure, kitchen life is ez money.
In my time in retail, making a low hourly wage, I’d have people try to haggle with me over a $10 item as though I had any power to change the price and then drive off in a 120k vehicle.
My job as a shut in NEET has completely desensitized me to all negative emotions of any kind.
I'm basically ecstatic 24/7.
Yes it's a job, i work for God.
Fancy gas station, learned I fucking HATE volunteer firefighters, and that wealthy boomers absolutely fucking hate being IDed for beer, and will pull a gun on me if I deny them for not showing me their ID.
Also hired a half beaner half black felon(wasn't the manager at that point) and he was the absolute worst of both stereotypes.
Other than that though it turned me from a Anon Babble autist into a Anon Babble autist, and I ended up meeting my wife, and am now a NEET, retired by 25.
The homeless stereotype is they yell in public and throw random shit at people while in a meth binge.
I was an engineer and machinist. Real conceptual shit for people/companies/entities/whatever.
At a certain point, you can learn just enough about what you're being asked to design/make to understand there's some really fucked up shit about such things' applications.
Cyber/Infosec in various sectors on a global scale.
It gave me an inextinguishable hatred for Pajeets, which I already made fun of all the time.
But, there's a certain security consulting firm from India that overcharges customers and delivers absolutely nothing. I've had to pick up the mess they left behind time and again, and have to get my clients to threaten them with lawsuits each time because they oftentimes wouldn't disclose certain reports to clients to mask the fact that they didn't do any work. They are fired from one big firm after the other. Makes you wonder how they stay afloat.
I can't publicly name them because of anti-defamation laws in Japan, but if you know you know. Absolute fucking animals.
Ah, on another note, working in the sector makes you aware how everything is basically held together by duct-tape and makes you think judgement cannot come soon enough.
Of the ones I talked to personally, the majority spoke English. I speak piece meal Spanish. That said, many of the English speakers had fragmented, disorganized speech patterns. For many, anything outside of the most elementary forms of verbal communication just lead to borderline nonsensical speech.
private sector
I encountered more than a few tweekers. They were okay. The ones I had the biggest problem with were on booze or crack.
Hope things are better for you now
was it only when they were high, or were they always speaking like this? Do you think the drugs fried their brains?
Skylark
I think now American homelessness has its own language at this point, broken English mixed with nonsense. Call it Skidlish.
High finance. Kinda crazy the fact that we celebrate "cost savings" in companies when those are real people with real jobs. Got me to realize you really need something with soul to keep you going. So many people here seem like robots, money hungry. There are some good people who want to change the world but I feel most have repetitive lives here. Always a good reminder to go out into the woods and take a breath every once and a while. The money is nice. But it kills your soul. Definetly leaning more towards Ted K right now in terms of politics.
oh no, it is permanent.
It was both. I think drug abuse, periods without regular sleep, and malnutrition heavily damaged their brains.
I went to a target school 10ish years ago and did all my summers at BB banks for PWM. Idk why. Maybe I was trying to impress people. The internships all sucked ass and the people really are shitty. But I left after 3 years and went back home and did a bunch of shitty wagie jobs before doing tree work for a while. I was a neet for a few months but that got unbearable.
I’ve never been a full time analyst but I bet that shit is even worse
I would rather work at a home depot or lowes
I worked at one of those for a while. It wasn't bad overall, although it did have all the usual retail bullshit. What was uniquely bad though, was the contractors. Both of those companies court contractors heavily and have special programs and discounts for them, because they're big and steady business. But about half of them are some of the hugest fucking assholes I've ever encountered in over a decade of retail, both mean and stupid. Often very cheap as well, and also extremely mean about prices. Also responsible for a disproportionate share of destroying our bathrooms, I think it was a weird dominance and sexual inadequacy thing. Definitely seemed deliberate.
The other half of contractors were on average cooler than the average customer. Just pros trying to grab shit for work and maybe grab a cup of coffee and chat for a minute if they're not in a rush. But the asshole half were some of the worst customers I've come across in retail. You never knew which you were going to get until you helped them a couple of times.
Don't give a shit about radiation anymore I guess
Mutation MAXXing should be the goal
Hello intelligence collector
Mind flayer isn’t a job I’ve ever been accused of doing
I was a Dominos driver during Covid in a mid-small southern town. I got to see all sides of humanity in that context, high, low, middle. Trailer trash and lake McMansions. White, Black, Indian, legal/illegal.
It left me mainly with deep intense hatred for pitbulls and a lingering suspicion of large dogs. Confirmed most racial stereotypes (though most blacks did tip, 95% of those who didn’t tip were black). Let me see the pandemic and its nonsense from a weird, ‘essential worker’ vantage. Also showed that Palestinians are about near as Jew-y as Jews (the owner was Palestinian) and killed what faith I had in the ability of female management.
Only stereotype kind of broken was Hispanic wise. Hispanic trailer trash were the only ones to ever offer booze as a tip.
Kanye, its u?
ye is a royal, pol is for peons.
I had some random black girl just throw her cup at the window for literally no reason, just looked at her in confusion as she drove off.
Fucking bitch
Sorry that happened anon
Working as a convenience store clerk showed me exactly how hard "refugee" immigrants waste their $3k/mo of food stamps on complete trash(mostly potato chips) and gave me a front row view to packs of niggers stealing a bunch of shit. People laughed when I said that shit would get Trump elected in 2016.
Military
Then healthcare.
Food service before that made me hate people, the medical and mil thing made me see how ugly and cruel the world is.
Being born poor, ugly and autistic is a fucking curse.
I STUDIED ELEVATOR REPAIR
Talking to technicians installing fiber internet into 80 year old women’s home fucked me up. None of these old women had computers, is what the technicians would say.
Godlessness. No different than the USSR.
Burger flip?
Working for Chinese, yeah they are assholes but it's better than works for gringos.
Yes
Army
Blood, gore and guts, screaming, explosions, terrible smells etc don't bother me one bit.
I used to care about reducing the amount of waste I make, recycling, and all that, then I got a job making glasses. I'd fill a roll off dumpster weekly with microplastics. I just don't care anymore.
The just boat over there instead of hopping the border here, wetback.
Working at a college made me hate zoomer niggers.
No worry anon, when dollar become useless then nobody will go to you country.
Didn't change my politics, but working at gamestop made me realize that I'm nowhere near as dorky as i thought i was.
Bruh, your GDP is literally propped up by people sending money from here to there. Don't think your country isn't going to devolve into cartel-backed military dictatorships once the gravy train here ends and the thin veil of democracy there falls apart.
Bro I work at pilot flying j I know what you mean lmao
Most mentally I'll are faggots
I worked at a Papa Murphy's that was run by some mafia guy. A Tony Soprano looking mfer came in and said he had to take a shit. I said we don't have public bathrooms. He said, "I gamble with the owner a lot let me take a shit", or something like that. My manager fucking walked over and let him into the back to our restroom. Half this cuntry deserves enslavement. Parents that waste their children's lives on shit jobs instead of school are retards. I don't value any of my time at min wage jobs. What a waste and tax on my mental health.
Think how bad Mexico is think of it if America goes into a depression with no money for drugs...errrrr
Do you know why you think this way? Because you are a commie. Do you know why you are a commie? Because you are weak.
I just wish your type could fucking grow up.
When you in kindergarden you didn't get to play on the sawhorses, when you were in elementary you didn't get to drive cars, when you were in highschool you couldn't drink. When you were a numbskull working a "robot" job you didn't get to drive a ferrari. When you were a construction foreman you didn't get to own a lear jet.
And so and on and so on.
All thats going on is maturation. Which you have not done; have you allowed yourself to be stunted and blame others for you own weakness? Well, fuck you then.
typical Conquest, fucking around, ordering Krusty Krab
The railways showed me that every employee is an ass up, face down, pillow biter.
Faith in humanity=zero.
Why don't you just fucking show them you lazy fuck
My previous job. I was written up for sexual harassment and was given a warning about how I'm not allowed to touch that person. I found that strange because I never touched that person, but their "Trusted probe" saw the whole thing. I did double down on my knowing I didn't touch her, and that she knows I didn't touch her, and that the "Trusted probe" never saw it, I was asked by the HR lady if I was going to "Retaliate", and after another response I gave back to clarify myself, I never heard from HR ever again.
I learned that the horror stories about HR and women in the workplace are real. The majority of women don't belong there, to the point where I am willing to say none of them do. If I gotta walk on eggshells only for someone to make up a lie about me to get me thrown under the bus anyways, then I never really had any security with that job.
Ok, Boomer
I worked at a whole foods many, many moons ago.
Reinforced my support for a merit based system with strong community leadership.
