Phil's problem though in one of two major cases was that he didn't just edge sort, he intentionally manipulated casino staff and made requests for them to do certain things to the cards in order to effect the outcome of the game. Only on cheapo tables, which you shouldn't be playing on anyway. Tables with 3:2 odds in my experience typically do not use continuous shufflers. Never play on a 6:5 table, blackjack is already stacked against the player and that 3:2 payout is the only thing you have going for you, hence the name of the game.

Slot machines can become postitive EV for short periods of time if they have a free bonus game that builds up over time and its very close to getting it. It’s a math game you beat the casino by only betting when the odds are in your favor. Even slots can be beatable depending on the promotion or progressive if you know the math for the game. Progressives mean your edge comes from other player’s losses so the casino is still winning and isn’t incentivized to kill your golden goose.
