This is not intellectually accurate. The original writings of God don't even have an adversarial "Devil" figure. In the book of Job, ha-satan (הַשָּׂטָן) is a member of the divine council—a sort of prosecuting attorney in God’s court. He is not yet evil, just skeptical. He's completely under God's authority, and not the rebellious "fallen angel" that Milton would later write about. The "serpent" in the Garden of Eden is also not Satan, he's just a creature that is, in the original writings, more "cunning" than the other creatures in the garden, including humans. God is in complete control of everything, both fair and foul, in the universe. This is what is known as the "Old Testament" God.

After the Jews were kicked out of Babylonia (1 out of 109 times this will happen), they came in contact with Persian Zoroastrianism, and this is where the idea of an "evil" figure arises.

This "evolution" of the concept just shows you that understanding of the divine is merely human reflection and growth over time, and not necessarily an explicitly revealed truth from God.
