There’s two range finding methods as far as I know

The first is reliable minus gravity warping the path of light, it’s parsecs

Basically the earths moves around the sun, so if you take a photo in winter and one in summer it’s like binocular vision and you can do interference rangefinder interferometry, this is highly accurate but only for stars in our galaxy, the rest is so far that you can’t tell the difference
