The debate between automatics and manuals made sense 50 years ago when automatic transmissions were still finnicky enough, unreliable enough, and expensive enough that buying a manual was advantageous, but this hasn't been the case for decades.

There is actually 0 REASON to have a gerabox for an electric engine that can give you power in a large range of RPMs.
