agree. the issue isn't the choice of application stores/package managers it is the crappy way it is implemented in every distribution. even worse are the seven ways to update. There should be a control panel that basically lets you select what your default way of doing these things are and that is integrated so when you "update" you press a button and when you want to install or REMOVE applications it's one place. If you want to use another method you can still do through other tools. The trick is to unify things while keeping options. It's not hard at all to do so but nerds are nerds and struggle to identify what normal people want.
