When I was a kid, it was about 2/3rds female and 1/3rd male teachers. The women were usually average teachers, able to get the job done but nothing exceptional. The men were half really good teachers and the other half were assholes. So kind of a bell curve with female teachers in the middle and the men on the extreme ends.
