So I needed to sell a small amount of pure gold I had to pay some bills. Not thrilled about it but it has to be. Know that gold buyers don't pay 100% of spot, especially if the gold is gold shot (small pellets used for jewelry making.)
I sent in a pour stump weighing a little over 10 grams of pure 24k gold. Was bought as shot from a reputable supplier, was melted in a clean graphite crucible used only for 24k (to prevent cross contamination) and had only been melted and poured once.
Lots of sources online said Midwest Refineries was the best place to send it in (since the local places around me only buy minted coins.)
The owner contacts me after receiving the 24k stump. His "tests" say its only 18k. Impossible. 18k looks little like 24k (anything above 20k will have a deep orangish gold coloring. 18k does not have that hue.)
I explain that I bought 24k shot from a reputable source and went to get lengths to ensure it wasn't watered down during the pour and that it had the orangish-gold color that 22k and 24k only have.
He responses he "retested" it and its 21k. Opps, guess that fancy xray machine isn't very accurate? But now he's saying its only 9.1 grams. I know for a fact it was at least 10 grams and more likely 10.2.
He won't budge. I could pay for it to be shipped back and hope he didn't shave any off to keep.
Find out the guys name is Gary Frenkel--a jew. Turns out after reading some bad reviews this is the jews standard tactic. He lies about quality and weight to pinch a few more shekels. Mind you I'm ok being paid a lower than spot rate, I fully understand a business has to cover their cost.
Why do jews always lie and cheat? I'm tempted to set this jew up by sending him certified purity and certified weight gold then reporting him for fraud to the State prosecutor (assuming they aren't a jew) for fraud.
