There are African countries with far lower wages than anywhere in Asia. A few have decent enough infrastructure. The real problem is Africans are not good workers, yet that is the main group of people Europe and Asia will need to import over the next 40 years to stop their demographic decline.

The cost of labor is not something you want to base your economy on since it can change with demographics. Another major cost is regulations regarding the environment, but then again, are Asian factories polluting the world's oceans with plastic something we really want?
