Who gets the tariff money?

Who gets the tariff money?

Is it just like taxes, does it just go to the gvt?

So if prices go up because the tariffs are making things cost more; is that no just the gvt taxing us on the things we buy/import?

Who gets the tariff money?

Tariffs are a tax levied on imported goods. They are paid by the importer to the Federal Reserve. Companies pay them, not individuals, although the tariffs affect the final price of goods to the consumer.

No you're mistaken, they go directly into Netanyahu's bank account.

Companies pay them, not individuals,

companies get all their money from individuals

so it's just a tax; the gvt should have a huge surplus soon?

It goes bye bye like your retarded question arg

rude

This is one of the many arguments against tariffs. The constitution says only congress has the power to tax. Trump's plan is unconstitutional, but who the fuck is going to stop him at this point?

constitution

:(

it goes to the nigger breeding program, probably

companies get all their money from individuals

Import and transport logistics companies most certainly do not get all their money from individuals. Most don't get a single cent from individuals.

Think of them like a very costly sales tax. Being that's how they play out but at a federal level. It's a regressive tax that punishes the poor and middle class more than the wealthy. Being the wealthy aren't worried about a 30% raise in prices to every day stuff to the level of someone working an average job.
plus as sales drop due to higher costs you can easily get into a death spiral. Where less sales, so less worker hours needed so people start getting laid off. Less workers means less local income being spread around. Everything goes down, down.. down.
There is a reason nobody does these sort of blanket tariffs or looks to get into a trade war in the modern day econ. Trump is just doing to try to fund a tax break for the wealthy. It's why him saying we are bring in so much money etc is kind of BS. Being it's not money coming in the USA from other counties. It's a tax/fine on bringing products in that will be paid by everyone living here.

Most certainly?

If you are importing and lotisticating bananas, who do you think buys the bananas? Exxon?

who do you think buys the bananas?

A whole host of middlemen before they find their ways to restaurant supply and grocery conglomerates. The grocers and restaurants are the ones who sell to individuals, not the importers who pay the tariffs.

this makes a lot of sense

in the end the only reason to import a banana is to sell it to a person who is going to eat a banana. That is who pays the final price of the middlemen.

"The price of your banana just doubled, but dont worry you are not paying for it"

think anon, use ur brain

no you don't understand we HAVE to import bananas that's the only way

Are you stupid or something? Do you not grasp the entire point of protectionism?

Are you stupid or something? Do you not grasp the entire point of protectionism?

The import banana grown with slave labor in a 3rd world country is still going to be cheaper than growing a banana in miami

fpbp and /thread

Lets make it simple.
Importer/Exporter pays new, extra cost % tariff fee.
Importer/Exporter doesn't want to eat the cost, so the goods sale price goes up
Consumer(us) now pays more for said goods by X%.
Government gets more money via Tariffs.
Government doesnt share extra money with consumers, because Government bad.
Government laugh at little guy.
Rich elite have party. Go golfing on island.
Littls guy cry. Little guy still make excuse for Trump and explain why he good president and why he care.
Little guy pathetic.
Little guy retarded

The labor cost will be. Transport and shipping loss management and invasive bug/microbe management all have costs that don't exist if products are produced domestically. You can't only compare labor costs when the production is happening in a completely different environment half a world away and needs to get product back home to be sold and consumed. If the margins were half as wide as they would seem if you only accounted for difference in labor overhead companies wouldn't be shitting their britches and falling over themselves to onshore production after tariff threats went out.

Think anon.

We share something in common i have no idea what i m looking at.

so high paying jobs in the usa are going to result?

is that what you think?

Who the fuck joins 2 taps together like this?

he never installed a sink faucet before

woman knows more about skilled labor than you

dropping the mask

He's retarded :(

It's a tax you can opt out of by engaging with the local economy. Shop local shitlibs should love it because it incentivises the masses to give a shit about how far their goods come from. But they hold beliefs for clout so they're mad anyway.

Who decides the price to apply the tariff? Is it based on the wholesale price to distributors?

Clearly neither have you, if you think joining 2 of them together is correct in any way.

it's an AI generated image of hardware that does not exist anons

The constitution says only congress has the power to tax.

What if the government destroyed the money derived from tariffs?

I know. It's just so bad that it has annoyed me.

Very sexy AI slop, I had to defend her tho. I know I look stupid in retrospect but I mean I was kinda right

It's based off a break down of the produce and every place of origin. An independent watch seller did a pretty good video breaking it all down. Also covering how you also can't just think of it as only adding the tariff cost alone. As you need the profit margins to stay the same to run the business.
So it's not $100 cost to $200 sales and then +30% so $130 cost to $230 sales. It's $260 sales.. so you can afford buying the new 130+ stock..

Mate I get the tariff money, and I will spend it all on 50 million green golf balls.

hahahahahaha

I support the tarrifs.
Taxes make government work for the people.
Big government small business. America wins . I think Harris had a smarter approach. Same result my family and friends are all doing well. Win win

Taxes make government work for the people.

NO TAXATION WITHOUT REPRESENTATION

Income taxes were the result in the absence of tariffs regardless of what incels in this thread tell you.

Blue collar workers?

Just think of it as the opposite of offshoring (in which we all pay lower prices for, usually, worse quality stuff, but the main benefit goes to kike billionaire owners, with the big losers the laid off american workers).mdw4v

most certainly do not get all their money from individuals.

The way they tell it you'd think individuals drive the economy. Which may be true of the chinese widget you get at walmart but the bulk of the money circulating never interacts with consumers. Even in aggregate their buying power is, while not negligible, certainly not the majority.
