I'm not sure about other places, but it's not bad here in the Midwest. I bought a 4 lb pork loin for <$8 last week. Potatoes are cheap. Onions are cheap. Been maxing on roasted broccoli. I make my own ranch seasoning from scratch (powdered buttermilk is tip top). Homemade ham and potato soup is comfy as it gets. Home grown broccoli sprouts go with almost everything and take minimal effort. Boiled some chicken thighs yesterday and made chicken noodle salad - used the remainder of a big pack I baked up Cajun style.
I like to eat good, not garbage. Cooking good food is so gratifying. Stop whining and stop being lazy.

a quick look at a recipe for mac and cheese and you'll be set. its just a bit of flour, butter, milk and grated cheese (dont buy pre grated cheese). takes a couple minutes to make it then pour on your pasta. you'll be saving loadsamoney and feel like a total macncheesechad
