It's not just prominent people. Most normal people have eyes like that. I've noticed it for a long time.
Ever wondered why that is?
I believe it is because of an asynchronicity in what is called the tonality of the vasovagal nerves, the largest of the body's cranial nerves. They exit the skull where the jaw meets the ears then terminate by articulating throughout the large intestine.
The full functions of these nerves are not yet well understood, but we do know that they are highly active in regulating and generating social behaviors, among many other things, including the function of the eyes and the relation of eye movement to nervous function and muscle memory.
My pet hypothesis is that certain types of patterns of social behaviors induce facial asymmetry, especially around the eyes and the movements of either side of the mouth, by creating different persistent tones in either of their nervus vagus. This could be a potential explanation or part of an explanation for what causes "sanpakku eyes" at a physiological level.
I think it is likely that the different types of tonal regulation which occur here have a lot to do with posture and proprioception, but you do see it very pronounced in the eyes of guys like Bezos. You can see it in unstable people like those with bona fide mood disorders and personality disorders sometimes. There's likely some mechanism which has to do with a sense of pain and harm, a sadomasochistic spectrum of interplay between giving and receiving harm.
So it is probably many factors which contribute to this kind of facial asymmetry, but I believe the nervus vagus can be referred to as the mechanism which ingratiates it into the natural habit and physiology of a person.
