What happens when oil runs out?

Old wells that was previously dry turn up functional again. Crude oil is renewable.

It doesn't run out and we wouldn't have to worry about it with smaller population

Retard
Retard but slightly less than the guy above.

This

We go back to coal. We never even came close to harvesting all of that.
"OH NO, A LITTLE BOY IS COVERED IN SOOT JUST FROM STANDING OUTSIDE ON A STREET CORNER... WE HAVE TO COMPLETELY RETHINK OUR SOCIETY!"
fucking libtards.

BIG O
BIG OHHHH
OOOOHHHHH
OOOOOHHHHH
OOOOOOOHHHHHHH
DUUUN DUUUN DUN DUUUUN

Hunting whales on land. America will be the largest oil and natrual gas exporter.

It won't.

where does it come from? what is the limitless source of hydrocarbons? how is that connected to the deposit sites?

what is the limitless source of hydrocarbons?

Capture.jpg - 283x519, 31.46K

trust me bro; oil companies are just spending billions for prospecting ever more remote and deep drill sites for no reason at all

It takes time for them to fill back up

Big oil shills will seethe but it never runs out
Fossil fuel is a made up word

something on the order of 30 million years, yes

It doesn't run out and we wouldn't have to worry about it with smaller population

It doesn't run out because we got all the easy-to-get oil, but the hard-to-get stuff is 2 miles below the bottom of the ocean and smaller populations can't afford the extra effort to get it. So they just go without. (Also known as "starving".)

oil is a renewable resource, earth is 6000 years old. don't worry about it.

its a renewable resource, stop listening to kike lies you nigger pet

Spit and other natural lubrication.

You use butter

We were supposed to run out of oil by 2030 I think we’re gonna be fine

what creates the oil?
is it dead shit?
has shit not died since the shit that made the oil?
actually asking, not trolling.

There are countless ways to produce energy, they just don't want you to know that because it won't make them any money.
Theoretically you could get energy by inserting a very long conductive pole into the ground to absorb the planet's heat.
There are many other ways.

think.jpg - 1132x865, 107.63K

Gee I wonder, maybe the same thing it happened in the 70's when it was supposed to run out.

If any day it does run out it'll be because they've decided to stop extracting it.

Shut up kike

Think natural gas which comes from shale. Oil is similsrly produced by polymerization of hydrocarbons due to the pressure under the Earth.

Just stuff decaying over time.

That's genuinely retarded. Coal is shit all around. We'll just go to natgas and nuclear+renewables. We're not gonna run out out natgas any time soon and nuclear is the best energy source we have. Porche is also working on turning CO2 into gasoline, and algae farms can be used to produce biodiesel. Coal is for boomers and poorfags like China.

so shit dies, and eventually becomes oil right?
shit has been dying continuously, so why wouldnt oil continuously be made?

I'm not sure actually, I just wrote the first thing that came to mind.

Correct.
Fun fact, the first commercially viable drill site in Spindletop Texas is still producing 100+ years later. Bet they didn't cover that in your indoctrination courses in school.

Switch to butter

Because its 8,000 feet deep now. It was less than 100 feet when new

It doesn't run out. There's more than enough oil in the world for hundreds of years, but it's economically unfeasible to use it. As the cheap oil becomes unavailable, the prices rise, and this other oil becomes economically feasible.

It won't because it's pus from the corpse of a giant. It's renewable.

Big O kino

abiotic synthesis

Mega duce Domanuce, it's show time!

tj3mvq2geql61.jpg - 1080x1440, 214.58K

what are the origins of this pic?

The Earth will be an uninhabitable wasteland by then, so nobody will mind running out.

We all fucking die since without oil no Haber-Bosch.

doesn't
we got so much fucking oil under that north arctic ice
they fucking LIED

a friend of mine used to shit logs like this. his go-to method was holding back at least for a week lmao

In worst worst case, fuels can be synthesized from coal, from natural gas, from sunlight, from sea water. It's less energy efficient than the oil in the ground, but with enough renewable energy generation capacity it's possible and better than manufacturing lunatic quantities of batteries.

except that it produces basically nothing anymore from its stripper wells. But maybe oil corps need to listen to you chuds and stop prospecting new sites and just wait for oil to magically appear in huge quantities on old sites in 2 more weeks again. LMAO

The Earth doesn't make fossil fuels anymore. All of it was a product of decaying plant matter, from a time before termites existed. Any modern plant matter is digested by the environment and becomes atmospheric CO2, which will ultimately be absorbed by the ocean, which makes the ocean increasingly acidic.

ask the doomers from the 70s that said the same

won't be a problem for a very long time, since oil prices will be going up and everything that can switch to alternate fuels/electric will do so first before the processes critically dependent on oil are affected. and natural gas (used for haber Bosch) is much more abundant than oil

Death

It will not, it is enough oil for thousands of years and more

We make more in a lab. There's a patent for it.

We'll process faggots like OP into oil

If it did, Billions would die within a month.
However the flow of oil is controlled to maintain artificial scarcity.
It's why the US has went to war so much and has so many proxy wars.
In order to control the flow of oil.

You still need oil to make the hydrogen and the nickel catalyst (plus build the facilities and the nuclear fission reactors if you're planning to go that way).

Oil is renewable resource. It is created during a reaction between carbon dioxide trapped in carbonate rocks and a water with silicon ferrates as catalyst
Oil from dead dinosaurs is a bullshit for young swedish girls.
I woudn't be surprised if it would be possible to drill for oil on Mars.

shut up retard

we start collecting all our shit and piss and turning it into gasoline.
everyone starts making 10% or higher hydrogen peroxide and we start powering evefything off of methane or jet fuel.

go believe in fuels from dead dinosaurs somewhere else

moving your mother across town will require 150 horses, instead of a single truck

This is bullshit, they've actually created oil from atmospehric CO2 and it's one of the proposed solutions for global warming. Oil is produced simply by heat and pressure in the earth's crust.

Humans will be extinct before that happens

Like said.
There is a lot of water locked up in the rocks inside the earth, under a lot of pressure and being forced to mix with other gases and elements. It slowly gets pushed up through the rocks and changes chemistry as the pressures and elements change. Think of it as a small sample from a large bag. The bag is incredibly huge, but we only get a small sample of its contents at a time. We are taking more than the earth is putting out, and most of it is being used to power up propaganda networks online and manufacture dildos. However you and I might feel about this, the Oil Companies could care less because we'll keep posting on social media and cramming in dildos.

haahahahahahahhahahahah!

So . . . there is this thing called the "conservation of energy." It will take the same amount of energy to change the CO2 to oil as was produced when it was burned. Where will the energy come from? Humans are going extinct, stupid. No one can save us. That was the decision that the was made when the Peris accords were made. They decided some magical future tech would save us before the PPM of CO2 went over 350. Remember the 350.org dudes? They were right way back in the early 1990s.

Scientology.jpg - 600x479, 42.72K

greenhouses pump co2 up to 1000+ ppm, plants love that shit.
we'll be fine as long as we dont chop down all the trees and pave rainforests to make roads for climate change meetings.

it's from a hospital, a patient took a giant shit in a bedpan and the nurse is disposing of it

Oil won't run out. When oil actually runs out, like there is NONE left to pump or no new finds to exploit we will likely be 500+ years into the future and will have no need of it as we have transition to some sort of nuclear and cars will run off batteries of some kind, probably not lithium, hydrogen or nuclear

Oil doesn't run out. It's not made out of dead organic matter. It's generated in the Earth's crust.

the Earth itself isn't a massive storage of thermal energy

it isn't constantly absorbing massive amounts from the sun that keep the temperature in equilibrium

You faggots need to make up your minds. Are we going to have too many greenhouse gasses that burn the Earth up, or are we going to extract too much energy from it and it won't have enough?

Oil is a renewable energy source.

what happens if like the water runs out

whoa dude

pass the spliff
